ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H22a head on F22a?

ok pretty sure im going with a turbo setup now but i still want that wicked doch vtec, but apperently f22a block is better for boost, so here is what im thinking, is it possible to fit the h22a head to the f22a block and will this give me a good increase in power and be suitable for a turbo?

You should talk to lo-dollar. He has a 500+whp H22A/F22A Frankenstein running 18psi of boost.
However, frankenstein motors aren't typically known for lasting long, but that's usually because of obvious differences in design, and the pairing of different components not suited to operating with one another. One such instance is in fact using the F22A block with the H22A head. The H22A head is more suited to higher RPMs, but long stroke motors, like the F22A, aren't as well suited for high-rpm. Not saying this doesn't work or won't work, but long stroke and high-rpm typically don't last long.

I saw the youtube video of that guy putting down those numbers. But I also have been told that the motor did not last that long.

The F22A head flows very well. Save your money and just boost the full F22A. You aren't gaining anything significant by "upgrading" to the h22A head.

frankenstein motors have serious potential for reliability issues. The H22A head doesn't do much on the lower-compression F22A block. When you introduce turbo, it's best to keep the motor as reliable as possible.

i saw a flow sheet of a f22a head flowing close to 300cfm. that's how much K20a heads flow! (at the intake side, the exhaust side on a f22 is kinda poopoo)

Yeah, the exhaust side is where the F22A needs work. However, the way it's designed, you can open that up to flow really well too! That's where most of the power gains are to be had when modifying an F22A head... the exhaust ports.
