ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Want some opinions on my sleeves *pics inside*

Tell me what you think happened here. Do you think I should continue throwing the head back on without re-honing it out? Compression check was good at 210 all across.

    Alot of piston play.

Id rehone to be safe. You suck something in your chamber? Doesnt look too clean. Anyway if you have a lot of piston play? but you have 210 comp? That sounds odd to me.

Nah no burning or wasting of oil at any time. The build has 9-10k miles on it and I pulled the B1 head off, planning on putting a h22 head on. I see the sleeves and I know that shit didnt look right, the motor ran strong and had hella piston slap when it was cold. But ran like a champ.

Thats what I think I am going to do is re-hone it and just replace the rings. If the pistons are trashed from rubbing the cylinders.

Motor always ran an Air Filter so I am not sure how anything got in there as far as trash from outside the car. Always ran 93 octane. Brand new fuel pump, reg, injectors, filter, lines.

When the pistons are at tdc there is a lot of piston play. About .175 of play @ TDC. Before tearing the motor down, I did a Comp check and all four cylinders came out 208-210. Bore is only 86mm w/ 9.2:1 pistons, block was decked .030 and head was shaved .030 w/ oem head-gasket.

I regret not doing a LDT.

Might I add, the first original tuner completely fucked the tune and had it RICH ( I MEAN SHOOTING 3-5 FT FLAMES OUT RICH)

Think it could have came from this?

The excess fuel may have washed the oil from the cylinder walls, causing the scoring.

That would cause the black death tracks in the cylinder walls.

piston rings could fried, did you balance your crank shaft on this build.

I don't think not balancing it would have caused that. Like stated above, the excess fuel probably washed the oil from the cylinder walls, and the piston side loading (from the crank throws) wore down the wall. You can clearly see that the wear is only in the direction that side loading is applied.

I agree with the excess fuel. That is most likely what happened if your tuner made it run pig rich. Good indication is when your oil starts smelling like gas.

very true..... thats why when you tune you should have at least an wideband 02 sensor, so at least you can monitor it.
