ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

to chip or not to chip

I'm getting a f22b with a prelude 98 tranny swapped in my 90 cb7, should I get a chipped out ecu and also a stock ecu for emissions in tx? Also is it just a simple plug and go for both ecu? As I have been thinking about using the stock ecu for fuel economy on my 1300 mile trip. Any answers at all would be greatful. Thanks yall

You can chip it as texas emissions isnt as strict as long as you pass the smog part. And also depending on what part of texas all they do is a safety inspection and they do smog. If you move into the cities Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and I think Galveston you will need to get smogged. There might be more but I know out in country towns such as Waco, Temple, and so on just require a safety inspection. When you mean 98 prelude tranny I hope you dont mean the ATTS trans that would just make it extra weight. If its the base you should be ok. The p39 wont pass US emissions I think. But I am not sure on that. I would just get a p06 and tune it. Either way if you want you can get "stickers" for a special price but yea. Since your comin from ohio and if you guys dont have smog there I would ride with the plates all the time around tx. My friends from Boston and he brang his maxima down here. He rolled around here 2 years with expired boston tags and never got pulled over lol because his car still registered in boston and he still had his plates lol.

09? I guess tahts a typo. Victoria shouldnt have emissions. Its a small town. I had a few people in my diesel class that were from there. You should be able to get away with safety inspection which is alike 12.50. Not expensive at all.

If you chip it, you should tune it... don't rely on a basemap to get you by. The stock ECU would be a better option if that's the plan.

Its not gonna be fun tuning an auto since he is gettin an auto trans. Tuners have had issues and Uber 1.66 was used. I dunno if any new software has updated. If your going auto your better off using the stock ECU. Kinda pointless IMO to tune autos unless its some hardcore built car which an accord wont be lol.
