ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Busted HID/projector kit headlight

    Hey guys!

I have a set of the 2 piece headlight kit with the projector mod setup inside of them.

Problem is, some guy backed into my car and busted the glass out.

Now, everywhere I go to find a replacement (insurance company gave me the money, but I couldn't find an exact replacement), I only find the less desirable (and plastic) 1 piece projector set. (even slickcar replaced the one in the link with the 1 piece set). I wanted to just buy an oem headlamp and take the glass off and put it on mine but... the oems have all the diffuser designs in the glass, and mine are just like the JDMs, 5-6 horizontal lines.

Help me! I'm pulling my hair out over this one! I dont really want plastic because the Arizona sun destroys plastic.

    those arent glass?

how much did the insurance give u? is it time for JDMS??? and with proper care of plastic it can last in arizonas heat i believe.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

      Thanks for your reply!

They gave me 150 for half the cost of a replacement cost. I found the most expensive place for the listing of the same headlight set, since I would only be able to get them in sets, and I figured they'd try to screw me.

I'm going to email those people right now and find out if those are glass. That would be awesome if they're actually the same, but so far, every place I've found that had THAT picture posted has always been different. It's always that "product may differ from product in picture" disclaimer.

I would like to get the JDM versions but I've been told since the traffic directions are the opposite, the housing is angled differently. It won't be a problem for the HID part but I don't want my Xenon bulbs vaporizing people! Ok, I do, but...

Ok - update. Seller states the lenses are plastic. So... they're not the same headlamps. Wreckless drivers FTW!

I've been calling around shops emailing places, nothing. I can't afford to buy a set of JDM headlights.. they're like 200 bucks+ and I'd just need them for the passenger side glass =(

              Update!

Got the headlamp I needed from a cb7tuner member. Now I just need to do the blackout routine!

Is there a thread with a general step by step to do this?

Ok I got one of the headlights blacked out and cleaned up. I'll get the other one done maybe this weekend.

Funny, at three this morning I was cleaning up the headlight and all of a sudden my garage door opened. My gf was in bed, so apparently someone has a scanner or running around neighborhoods with their opener. Either way, I unplugged my door lifter.. Shoulda had the light off waited for them to walk in and knock em out..
