ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Something not right.

I just noticed that when I go reverse on full steering (meaning all the way to the left or right) something is rubbing on the wheel well. On that position I stop and check for the rub , results that I didn't see anything that rubs. Tires don't rub the inner well. Any idea what that is?

Also , when I shift to reverse I hear a clunk noise in the transmission area. I can also hear this noise when I brake on reverse , sudden brakes and accelerate from sudden brake. I have check all brake hardware to see if they are all installed and tightened properly. Yes they are.

So far on the suspension I have done the upper control arms w/ balljoints , outer tie rod ends , wheel bearings , lower balljoints , new brake pads and new brake rotors. I get this clunk occasionally like when I first got the car it was there then months later it disappeared then suddenly came back again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm , I guess so. It's been the original axel since 1992.

I carefully double checked everything and seems to be fine.

          Pardon my less descriptive thread.

          Yes it's an automatic.

Could it be rubbing a fender or something?

I would just not turn it all the way, because when your turning it all the way, you know SOMETHING is stopping it from continuing to turn

I never turn fully just so that I never do have any incident with rubbing
Meh, not feeling the honda game anymore.

              No not fender.

Yeah there should be something that is stopping it from continuing to turn fully. What mine is does it does stop then it still continues. It's like the lock is broken or something. But when I turn forward , there is no problem.

What I do now is not do a full steering turn but I have to maneuver multiple times.

Not really bi**ching about this but it kinda annoys me.

it probably just your wheels rubbing, remember your rims are 6.5'' wide not 5.5''. My brother had the same issue. getting a 5mm spacer should solve the problem

I can say that when the rear mount gets older it makes a clunking noise when transitioning, I most often hear it when coming to a stop, as the revs fall below driving speed, but it does show up at other times like medium speed turning. There's a tsb about it, but as long as my car isn't shakey at idle I'm leaving it be.

My idle is not shaky but I know my rear mount is gone but not completly. I doubt it's the mount because my transmission shifts real smooth as a smoothie.

well all mine does in reverse is shake a lot, i'm auto too. I used to have a clunk whenever I turned the steering wheel while parking though. It turned out, all the mechanic dude did was reposition the bushing that holds the steering rack and it took care of the noise. So basically he turned the bushing 180 degrees and used the rubber side that wasn't compressed, and it took care of it completely. I don't know what exact part he messed w/ but its some kind of rubber bushing/grommet so look for that under the car and just loosen the bolts and move it and see if that works.
