ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    h22a swap illegal?

i have went to a shop and they said that swapping a h22a in my auto f22a1 accord 1990 lx is illegal.

    problem w/ my car
hole under motor due to scaping (lowered car)
transmission is messed up some gears dont work (sports mode blinking)

    might as well swap right?

    but the problem
    mechanic said

that car is so old i should junk it
it has to be original motor.i cannot but a double cam in there
the car ref is going to see it....
it will not pass smog test....

    is these facts real?

i live in san francisco, ca

    help and inputs

people living in SF please help recommend me to a shop

I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, said i have to pay 1800 to FIX IT WITH ORIGINAL MOTOR

are you in Cali? Isn't there a law saying you have to use a motor from another accord?

If so, you should go for the new 3.5L V6 6-speed combo

There are a lot of Cali folk with H22's...I can't see why not.

from what I understand in c.a you have to swap the motor for a motor from a same make of car .... if you have any questions call your local peformance shop that does swaps I am sure them have them , or you can call local g.o.v and ask a bureaucrat

You are somewhat wrong. Swapping a jdm motor in is illegal why?
                      1. it wont pass smog unless some shit is done.
                      2. It is not a motor produced in the US.

USDM motor swaps are ok JDM however is a different story. It is illegal to swap in a motor that is older than the car itself also. But we shouldnt have an issue with that. Either way most smog stations I go to dont check the engine code they just roll you on the dyno depending obd1 or 2. California and other strict places might be more different. Anyway you can make it pass by tuning but some places require the oem ECU to be used.

Actually jdm motors are ok, kurobei is actually trying to pass his with the state ref. Your required to have the usdm ecu and have all emisions equipment hooked up. The State Ref will check a few other things, depending how strict they are.

Like stated before you wont pass if the motor is older than the vehicle and if its obd-II.
