ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

new honda MTF didnt fix the problem :(

hmm. according to a few sources my transmission fluid needed to be changed.
so i changed it. unfortunately, there's been no improvement in terms of smoother shifting. so i'm guessing its the clutch? i bought a new clutch slave because of my soft pedal, will that help or is it unrelated to the actual problem?

        worn synchros?

an old engine can't necessarily be made new by a fluid change

what exactly is the problem you're having?

          well,

usually when i try to shift to 1st, 2nd, or reverse, the shifter is a bit stubborn and sometimes i just have to muscle it into gear. i find that sometimes if i depress the clutch and then try to shift it's a bit easier but i usually have to repeat this process two or three times, maybe even more to get the car in gear. its pretty annoying especially when i'm at a stop light on an inclined hill with traffic all around me, and many other situations where i need to get the car moving quickly, but something is constantly shitting on me. whats a "synchros?"

you mentioned a soft pedal, has the fluid been bled properly?

I mean if it takes a couple pumps to get pressure in the lines to release the clutch's hold, that could be the reason.

I know at speed there's a way to shift without even depressing the clutch, maybe that has something to do with why it takes less effort with higher gears.

Did you try adjusting the pedal screw thingymajigger on the master cylinder/clutch pedal? If it's too far inward or outward your clutch may not disengage/engage fully, and the clutch line fluid could also have air
Meh, not feeling the honda game anymore.

does the problem get better if you pump the clutch? Sounds like you still have air in your system to me. Get a buddy and get a long tube of plastic into a paper cup and bleed your clutch for a long time... I bet you eventually you will get some bubbles coming out of the reservoir and bleeder valve after 10 or so pumps. Took me about an hour to get them all out today with my friend and I still dont think I got them all out yet.

also, if the fluid that was replaces was either the wrong fluid or really really old there may have been a lot of crap in the tranny. you may need to change the MTF a few times to fix it. that's what happened with mine, the previous owner put the wrong fluid in, i was grinding every time i shifted into third, and grinding really bad into second if i hit high rpms in first... replaced the MTF a few times and now its golden, it only grinds (slightly) when it's cold (below freezing)

                        hope that helps...

I wouldnt mess with your adjuster screw... thats only for when you replace the master cylinder. You definitely have air in the line and you need a buddy to help you pump it all out... it will probably take you 30 min of just pumping and bleeding it out.

is your line from the bleeder valve hardline any good. i felt the same hard to shift when i found my small hole in the clutch line. so all the fluid leaked out.
