ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Auto Trans?????

A while back my 91 EX simply stopped pulling ......no warnings....no codes...no trans light. Since I have been angry with it I have ignored it until today. I charged the battery and found that the starter motor engages and is turning what looks like the torque converter but the engine does not turn over. Has the converter separated from the flywheel???? What can I do to inspect it? Thanks!

I will add that the day the trans stopped pulling the engine was still running. This supports the idea that there is a broken connection somewhere. Anyone??

There is definitely something not working properly. Unfortunately, it looks as if you'll need to pull the trans to see.

Unhook all electrical components. Drain all fluid. Pull your axles out of it (you'll need to pop the lower ball joints... be prepared to ruin them... torn boots mean they have to be replaced). Support the motor from the bottom using a padded jack (I used a good book). Lower the engine a little by loosening the driver's side mount. Undo the transmission mount completely. Remove all bolts holding the transmission to the engine. Pull. Don't kill yourself... that sucker is heavy.

Thanks.....I have a jack and stands so that should help.

To take the trans off you need to

              Undo electrical

Take off intake/battery holder (makes it easier to get to stuff)

              Take out axles

              Take off kick down cable

              Take of shifter cable

              Take off starter

              Take off tranns cooler lines

Take out VSS, or just disconnect the PS lines

Take the bell house cover off (bottom)

Take bolts out that hold the torqueconverter to the flexplate

              Take the main bolts out

I pulled the lower bell housing cover this morning to see of the flex plate and converter were still connected. They are! It appears the slipping is between the flex plate and the crank. Are there splines between the crank and flex plate?? Thanks!
