ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

there has to be others that you can switch into the CB7, other than the ones in it.

Well, for the a1 and a4, they say use the p12. But the a6 has the IAB system, and with any other ecu's other than the p12, your IAB's are bound to not work. That's what they told me.

i'm sure you could chip a p28 or a p72 for it or something i dont know a lot about ECUs and tuning but you asked what one was best for your motor.

the one that was made for your motor is the one thats going to make it run the best. unless you get a chipped ECU with it either street tuned or dyno tuned for your needs.

trying to find one that can be tuned, i got friends of friends that can tune the crap out of them

and my friend has a p28 in a 93 Civic EX and that thing roars with power, quite a bit of it comes from the ECU tuning

The P28 in that Civic is the stock ECU.

Honestly, if it doesn't have significant modifications, not much power will be had from tuning the ECU. If you don't have all the bolt-ons, plus at least a cam, it won't be worth your time. Tuning the ECU is only good for motors with AT LEAST a cam, usually headwork... or some form of forced induction. The best you'll get from a near-stock engine is better fuel economy (which is nice...)

You have a PT6 ECU. As said before, it is the best one for the F22A6.

The P12 mentioned is from an F22A1 powered Prelude, and will likely add about 10hp to the 125hp F22A1 found in the Accord... as it makes 135hp in the Prelude, and the ECU is the ONLY difference that anyone has been able to find.

However, the F22A6 already makes 140hp. Much of that power increase is due to the intake manifold, which has a dual-runner (IAB) setup. The P12 from the Prelude wouldn't operate the IAB properly, meaning it wouldn't be nearly as much of an upgrade to the F22A6 as it is to the F22A1. You can hook the IAB up to vacuum only, but that doesn't make for efficient operation compared to the electronic control. It's debatable as to whether or not the P12 offers a gain over the PT6 tune anyway.

If your engine is as stock as your car appears on the outside, don't even worry about the ECU. There's not much power to be had there just yet. Upgrade to a good header (Bisimoto is coming out soon), get an H23 intake manifold, get yourself a good cam (Bisimoto is best, a Delta regrind will work if you're cheap). Get a good exhaust system, and a cheapie intake with a good K&N or AEM filter. THEN you might see something worthwhile with a tune... but not a whole lot, even then.

I mean header sorry, bisimoto has been coming out with one for some time.
but I mean as of right now what header you recommend?

I'd wait for the Bisimoto. There aren't any quality headers for the F22A otherwise. What you have is about as good as anything else you can get. If you want a header, you're getting it just for looks.

If you replace that camshaft, lemme know. I need one from an A6, cause I just downgraded from an A6 to an A1, and that's all I need to make this A1 an A6 again.
