ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Clutch trouble

recently my clutch pedal has changed a bit. theres almost no resistance in the first half of the pedal when i push it down.. and then when i get to the other half theres very little pressure. almost like pressing the gas. I recently bled the clutch because the clutch hose got clogged and i replaced it , and that made the pedal hav a lot more pressure but now it's just gone. Then once in a while the engine keeps slipping when i shift gears but then i just turn off the car and turn it back on and everything is back to normal , and also today i tried to turn on the car and it wouldnt.. i pumped the clutch a few times and tried again and then it started. could this be i need a new clutch? i dont want to buy a performance clutch, at least not until i get my h22a .. that's when im going to start modding my car further. so would a regular oem clutch fix the problem or maybe it's something else i need?

Have you looked at your clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder to see if there are any leaks?

The clutch has nothing to do with the car not starting.

However, it sounds like the hydraulic system may be failing. Time to replace the master and slave cylinders (they don't cost all that much... best to do both, even if only one is failing). Be sure to bleed the lines properly. It's very easy to bleed a clutch line imporperly. If you aren't sure how to do it, have it done at Honda. They'll do it right.

If it's slipping while in gear, especially right after a shift, then the clutch may be shot. My clutch was riding on rivets when I finally changed it, and I still managed a 15 second quarter mile with it.

Pick up an Exedy OEM replacement clutch. That will be fine for an H22A as well. The H22 doesn't put out that much more power that you NEED to upgrade to a performance clutch. Don't waste your money on a part you don't need, unless you plan on some extensive work to that H22 as soon as you get it.

Here's my stock clutch... I'm sure it's the one that Mr Japaneseman got back in 1994 when he bought his Prelude...

yea i checked the master cylinder and its good with clutch fluid. i just recently changed the clutch master cylinder about a 2 months ago. and i'm not so sure if it's slipping that the car does. it's only happened to me twice so far. i turn on the car and by the time i get 2 2nd gear the car just starts revving back and forth (while im not pressing the clutch) .. i push the gas and the rpms go up and the car goes no where. turn off the car and turn it back on and then it's fine.. pretty weird
