ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

i was gonna say remove the cotter pin too, spray pb blaster on it and let it work in other wise, like already stated, it would be really good to get a holdof an impact wrench/ air tools

Upper - Remove the cotter pin, and get the crown nut a couple threads on, whack it hard (if the ball joint is shot, you wont be re-using it anwyays) Ball joint spreaders are nice to have, its an oversized 2 prong fork. you shouldnt have any probelms, i just did all my uppers. What a difference.

The fork will almost always destroy a boot... especially an old, worn boot. If it's already ripped, it's worthless anyway. If it's not ripped, you'll rip it, rendering it worthless.

Let the PB Blaster soak in. If it still won't come loose, try holding the bolt with something. Just be careful not to damage the threads.

i don't know man, those lower balljoints you have look really funny. it doesn't have a nut that accomodates a cotter pin like a factory oem lower balljoint has. i suggest you get new balljoints that are more secure than what you have now, just my opinion.

Have someone put their weight on the rotor while you unscrew the nut. Or use a impact gun.

I just had this problem with the LBJ spinning with the nut when I was trying to put everything back together after an axle swap. Nearly went insane.

                          The fix:

Make sure nut and LBJ thread are completly clean, with no burrs on the metal.
Put a small pry bar against the fork. Pull down on it to put pressure on the top of the LBJ.
                          Nut goes on.

Since you are removing the nut you have the opposite problem. Can you use a jack to put upward pressure on the LBJ?
