ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Manual Transmission

First off I wanna say whats up to all the peeps in Cb7. I'm the new guy. Anyways I drive a 92 Accord Ex f22a6 M/T. I got the Accord last fall with 216,000 miles. In the winter I noticed that it was getting a lil hard to shift. I would have to force it in 1st and it would kinda pop in to 2nd and 3rd. 4th and 5th would shift ok. As soon as the car would warm up it would shift ok. Sometimes I would have to turn the car off to put it in 1st. It still doin it. Has anyone had this problem before. Thanks for any info

Welcome aboard For the tranny have you checked your master cylinder? Doesn't sound like syncros, but does it make any grinding noise when you shift into 2nd or 3rd?

Try changing your tranny fluid and use Redline MTL and see if it's gonna get better,Bet you, it does. Some guys had good results with the GM Syncromesh. I never had experience with the Syncromesh but I've been using Redline on two 5 speed tranny car and one of them is a cb7 and all I can tell you is this product is amazing when it comes to gear oils.

I've personally used Royal Purple Synchromax and AMSoil MTF, both were great for cold weather (0F) and summer. Before that the Honda stuff was a treat over 5-30 engine oil, but struggled in the extreme cold and third would still grind a bit.
Also, I find I have stuff it into 1st sometimes if I'm still rolling slowly, and with any speed its near impossible.

Are you sure the system has been bled good enough? I had a tough time bleeding my clutch when I changed my slave cylinder. Torco mtl helped my wifes 2000 accord, it hated to shift down into 1st at anything over 5-10mph.

If you do decide to change the gear oil, get Redline MT-90, its definitely worth the money.

Honda fluid is best. A fancy aftermarket fluid isn't necessarily an "upgrade". Honda has a new synthetic MTF. Get that.

It's also possible that damage was done to the internals of the transmission, such as the shifter fork.

Mine is also very notchy... it seems to be a very common thing.
