ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I am pretty sure its the FITV and yes you can clean it. The one next to it should be the IACV.
    I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

the mechanic said that it was leaking again. i replaced the hoses about 3 years ago coz the residue ate away the rubber hose.

so it's better to clean the inside instead of replacing the part?

yeah clean it with carb cleaner.

If you have a surging idle, it's usually your FITV. A quick remedy is to remove it (three bolts and two coolant lines), then take off the top (three phillips heads), then take the fitv and drop it (carefully) into a pot of boiling water to heat it up, and carefully remove it after say 2 minutes. Then take a flat head screw driver, and tighten the yellow piece down as far as it will go.

And no you don't want to buy a new one from the stealership. unless your name is Mr. Moneybaggz

it looks like its leaking from the hose clamps, those things look nasty as hell, so i'd say replace those too.

Ah, they leak all the time. When you clean it our try getting some small worm type clamps, those tighten better than lousy spring clamps.
However if the valve is ticking alot, then its time to replace. By ticking I mean it sounds like an ABS actuator pumping, lol

you have a photo of a worm-type clamp?

haven't noticed any sound coming from it, will try to listen to it.

                      thanks!

it is supposed to be adjusted while hot. It's easier and saves you a bit of gas to just take it off, drop it in a pot of boiling water and tighten it down
