ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I've got a brand new Cooling Fan Sensor, the fans worked directly on a 12 volt source. Does the ECM control any of this turning on or only the Cooling Fan Sensor.

Additionally another odd thing I noticed today, my ac compressor comes on no matter what with the A/C button in or not...still turns it on.

    Very interesting. -

The pully will spin at all times, but the compressor clutch itself will not engage unless the AC is on.

        4. If those check out you might be the lucky winner of two crapped out fan motors which is something I have never seen before.

Your radiator hoses are supposed to be about equal temp and stiffness if the T-stat opens up.
I've seen 2 crapped out fan motors before . . . Customer went mental at us because we couldn't diagnose the problem - Murphys law, as soon as she picked the car up it started makng the noise - Faulty fan motors.
You'd think they would have noticed the car overheating rather than the faint and intermittent noise

You havn't said yet - but have you checked the fuses and relays?

All relays under the hood pertaining to fan operation have been replaced, cooling fan sensor, relay. Circuit has been test using jumpers to verify the fan works, and the circuit isnt shorted etc.
One thing we noticed during testing today was, after the sensor trips for some reason instead of getting voltage at the underhood fuse box, we actually loose a voltage source.
Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the operations of the unit are still running through the fan timer unit, even the radiator fan.
I noticed in the past if the car was hot, and or overheating the condensor fan would come on when the car was off. Now today even though the car was overheating, that fan wouldnt come on with the AC on, or on when the car was turned off.

All that being said, I'm going to try and replace the fan timer unit and see if that helps.
