ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    New h22 swap- code 6

So i just finished my h22a swap and im pretty happy with the results. I had a couple of problems that i took care of but i cant seem to figure out my CEL 6.
Its the engine coolant temperature sensor and its causing both of the fans to run constantly whenever the key is in the on position. I replaced 2 sensors that are located underneath the dizzy and cant figure out whats wrong.

Does your gauge get to full hot?

also the two switches that go activate the fans are on both water necks on the engine.

Might be the fan timer control module located under the dash on the driverside. but i have never seen that go bad

the code 6 is the one right under the dizzy i just had this problem and it was that my wire had popped out of the butt connector where the wires had been lengthened

i replaced the plug from a spare one off of an extra wire harness i have laying around and replaced the sensor itself with one from my f22. No change.
what if i ran a new wire from the sensor to the ecu? that where that wire goes right? oh yeah and the fans are always on even right after startup. It has a hard time getting warm

        edit:

oh yeah and the temp gauge acts normally and does eventually get up to the middle.

interesting ... wait did you plug the temp sensor in the front or rear neck into the wrong one and vise/versa all of the temp sensor plugs are the same even though they monitor different things

possibly. theres 4 plugs that deal with with temperature right? 3 are two pin and are located on the front and rear coolant neck things and the other under the dizzy. there is one 1 pin connector under the dizzy also. are you saying that i mixed up one of the two pin connectors? isnt the code 6 for the single wire connector though?

The single wire temp sensor is for the temp gauge on the cluster. It wont throw a CEL if unplugged. Just your temp gauge wont work.

ok.. the plug for the coolant temp sensor on the thermostat housing has a black and blue wire. that i know for sure.. i will have to look in the daylight for the other two sensors.. but try and swap plugs with the one that is at water neck that has the hose coming from the top of the radiator with the one under the dizzy and see if that works. good luck.

You know, I was thinking there was only two sensors, one that goes into the thermostat housing and the one under the dizzy. Plus the one wire for the gauge.

I know that when I did mine, I had a similar problem, but one of the wires was cut flush to the sensor, so it looked connected, and sometimes was, but a bump could disconnect it.

yep a disconneceted wire, cut wire, mixed up wires, or mixed up plugs sound to be your problem ... the 1 wire plug is for the gauge, the plug on the head under the dizzy is the one that will throw a code and the other 2 control cooling fans ... i didnt think of this last night but you said your fans stay on which indicates a constant signal im willing to bet that you have one of the temp fan plugged into the head and the one thats supposed to be on the head plugged into one of the temp fans due to the fact that your fans stay on and the sensor on the head sends a constant signal. the other 2 sensors wont throw a code i dont think since i have my rear one wired together anyways so that my fan stays on all the time anyways

thanks for the help. It ended up being mixed up plugs. All 3 of the two pin plugs were in the wrong spot. oops
