ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

help on a single vtech head swap on a A1

Aiight so i just got a single vtech head from a 95 accord. im pretty sure that i would have to change the ecu into the 95 ecu but i would have to change the car to an obd2?? because i have no clue on that. also would i have to run a wire from the vtech solenoid to the ecu? I can see that the rest pretty much aligns up. I also just got a turbo from a saab that came with a waste gate. ive never done a turbo install, but i would def need some help.. is there any one out in central jersey that could guide me through??? I would really appreciate the help.. Thanks guys

No such thing as vtech unless you like phones.

Yes you will need the ECU,
You will not need to convert to OBDII
There is a write-up somewhere on here about how to do single cam vtec head swap
However, do not expect a big increase in power. Most people on here will tell you that this swap is a waste of time.
A turbo install is pretty involved that requires a lot of knowledge on engine performance and how an ECU works, also with a saab turbo you will have some welding/fabrication to do.

        95 is OBD1. You'll be fine there.
You will need the ECU, as said.

The swap is a waste of money. For what? MAYBE 5hp (you won't get it all) and "vtech"? Do you even know what vtec is? Or how the vtec system on the SOHC F series is different... and not intended for performance at all? OR that the F22B port design is awful for performance purposes compared to the F22A head that you're about to discard?

Turbo is also much easier on an F22A. Additionally, you don't have to worry about your frankenstein motor failing on you when you boost... You only have to worry about your turbo system blowing up your motor!

Don't do it. The F22B1 (vtec... not vtech...) head is worthless.

Ok so the best thing to do is to just do the turbo set up and forget about the single "VTEC" head?

Yes. If you're planning on going turbo, you'll actually choke the engine's performance potential by swapping on an F22B1 head. Stick with the F22A1 head, save yourself a shitload of work and reap the benefits of a high-flow port design.
