ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

How big is the stock EXHAUST piping under car?

I was looking under my 91EX (which already came with a highflow muffler installed when I bought it), but it wasn't until now that I noticed the piping (between cat area and the muffler) seems HUGE to me. It just doesn't "look" stock, as it seems to protrude visibly out from under the normal profile of the car, but it might be. I first noticed it coming out of the store as I was walking towards my car in the parking lot; I could see the exhaust piping (in front of the muffler) hanging below the chasis (without having to bend down to look at it). I thought at first maybe I hit something and made my exhaust fall off the chasis, but when I took a closer look under the car, I can see the top of the piping is as close to the chasis as it can be, and that it's just so "big" to me that it still sticks out past the bottom of the car's profile.

Judging from my eyeball measurement, I'd say it looks at very close to 3" diameter. What is stock diameter?

I'm wondering if I have some sort of custom exhaust setup that I didn't even know about.

      3" is huge.

Exhaust is measured in Diameter, not circumfrence.

OK I went back out today and got a better look at it again. 3" was probably an overestimation for sure. It just looked huge to me at the moment for some reason, lol.

I need to measure it to be sure, but it still does appear bigger than 2".

The muffler tip itself (which I wasn't confusing) is pretty big, probably more than 3" on the tip, but that's not what I was talking about.

My car is pretty loud. I actually don't like it that loud. At certain RPM's it gives me a headache from the inside of the cabin. It sound's pretty deep at idle, and on revving it's deep, but when I actually accelerate at the end of the high RPM before I shift, you can hear a slight rasp towards the end.

My gf has the car right now. I"ll take pics later and measure it to be sure.

The stock piping starts off decently sized after the cat but then sizes down after the resonator in the last section of pipe before the muffler. That is why axle-back exhausts aren't a bad idea.
