ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Another post about an AWD Accord

So I was pondering a AWD CB7 wagon and looking at other Honda Awd's and remembered that the Element was available in awd. I know that the Element and CR-V (newest ones) both have a K24. I was wondering how hard of a swap this would be for the whole drivetrain on a CB7 wagon shell? I have a $5000 limit and I found a t-boned element with awd a a junkyard and am able to get the engine and manual trans for about $2400. Or should I just buy a Wrx and call it a day?

The Element rides on a CRV chassis, which in turn is a Civic chassis.

Doable? With a lot of money, yes. Should I do it if I had the money? No

Like what I've said many times in previous threads, I'd get myself a CB4 chassis (or CB7 4ws) and call it a day.

But you guys dont get the 4WS chassis, so I'd say get a proper AWD car

after all the work u would put in it to am an awd wagon u might as well go buy a new car and be out driveing it instead of fiting with ur cb for however long it would take and i woundt think 5k would be enough money so just do a k24 swap

you can do it if you have the cash. 5 grand is a lot of money to be spendin on a car. dont forget to factor in all the little stuff cuz thats what gets a lot of people in binds and end up with unfinished swaps. I personally dont think it would be worth it. there's nothing wrong with fwd.

I think this was mentioned in the last post about it. Unless you wanted the awesomeness of building an awd accord on the cb7 frame...it would be much easier and cheaper to get a subaru...looks similar to the cb7 too.

Still...I love my cb7...and an awd would be pretty neat...I still wanna make it rwd...just cause I love the car that much...and it would be bad ass but not today

You could get the H to B conversion plate and use the AWD 5 speed CR-V transmisson. The rest would have to be all custom axles, rear drivetrain...ect

don't forget the chassi...gotta enlarge a center part to run a drive shaft...plus you have to have a rear diff. and you have to mount up suspension components to hold that rear diff and axles.

PLUS you have to also include another spot for the exhaust to run...current issue with my supra...used to have one pipe and I have two pipes...hince why I'm running Y pipe...instead of and x pipe or duals with a cross over...but with an awd cb7...you'll need to two indentions...big one for drive shaft and a smaller one for exhaust.

It is really a BIG undertaking...you are rebuilding the frame of the car

A K series swap alone would cost more than $5000 unless you can do all the fabrication yourself. The AWD modification would require LOTS of work... the majority of the rear would have to be created from the needed AWD parts and your imagination.

If $5000 is your limit... don't even think about it. This isn't a project your attempt on a budget.

There is a guy on Honda Tech that made a AWD crx with alot of crv parts and it runs 9's so I would say his is safe but it depends on who does the work and how they do it.

If you do the work yourself and you're a trained and certified mechanic working every night and weekend, it would probably take you a couple of years to complete the conversion. If you dropped the car off at a shop and had them do all the necessary custom fabrication, you're probably looking at the cost of buying a brand new 2008 Accord Coupe. Being unique costs money. How much are you willing to spend?
