Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    smokin like a hippie

    when my car first starts after sitting all night and when i get on the throttle it smokes pretty bad.

    i think its the valve stem seals but im curious on what other people think it is

    its either that or the rings are gone. cause i had a crx that done that

        id wager it might just be steam. condensation in your exhaust from cooling off..

          the smoke it blue. im buring oil and pretty quick.

          how long would it take to replace the valve stem seals?

            Similar problem I think

            My cb smokes in the morning when I first start it, but I only notice it happening like once a month. Also my engine won't hold it's full oil capacity, I fill it up full and then it will go down to about halfway between the 2 dots on the dipstick, I also notice a hint of burning oil smell during that time. I've also had an annoying ticking sound coming from my engine, but only between 1,500-3,000 rpm's. Oh yeah, and in the past few months I've also noticed a slight drop in power and an economy drop of about 5mpg.

            Do you guys think that my valves are going bad? I would think that valves could cause a lot of this stuff, at least the performance and noise troubles. Any advice would be appreciated.

              Seeing blue smoke means your burning oil of some sort. I'm not sure how long it takes to replace the rings but I'd grab a haynes manual and read up on it before you do anything. That haynes manual is my best buddy when it comes to replacing stuff haha, other than my TN crew putting in a helping hand
