ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The trade off to impact safety is that the fronts are designed to not be very rugged.

If the car doesn't absorb the impact, then the occupants do.

Accord front ends aren't very rugged, but the crumple zones disperse energy very well. In both cases I hardly felt any impact inside the car.

my CB1 was involved in a 6-car pile up on the freeway in the rain. there were 5 passengers in the car (i wasnt in the car, havent got my license yet)

the car took quite a hit, the front end crumpled a bit, but the rear took most of the impact from the rear car.

imagine the tail lights being pushed nearly underneath the rear windscreen.

I have alot of experience in collision repair and in my opinion accords hold up pretty well. Both frame rails are triple walled steal and several crumple zones in between. as far as side impact the B pillar is also reinforced. doors also have side impact bars. New cars have double side impact with airbags in the a pillar. Now for the bad news our cars dont do well in the rear end. Frame rails are weak and bend very easy. The problem in the front is most of our cars are slammed. That puts our front end in a lower position than bumper height standards. How many of you have been in a accident with a suv. Yes you end up under someones rearend. So some advice Just be careful and hope you dont get rear ended...

i'm not sure, all i have is a '90 DX with no ABS or airbags. i'm gonna have a nice H logo implanted into my forehead if i rear end someone.

Stupid deer. Damn they can cause a lot of damage. My car is mostly fibergalss away. I would hate to see that.

I'd rather see that then have a steering wheel imprinted on my forehead. As I stated previously, the front crumple zone disperses the energy of an impact incredibly well. Even hitting a 150lb deer at 55mph, I didn't feel so much as a wiggle in the steering wheel. It's just scary how quick it happens. It was over faster than you could blink your eye.

That's interesting, because I have seen them take some pretty gnarly hits in the rear end without much damage.

My cars have held up well with rear end crashing lol. But most of them low speed. The worst was when my car got totaled by a jeep. That thing bent my qp a lil and totaled it out.

They are pretty safe cars the only issue is if you get in a bad enough accident it will total out the car because of its age.
