ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Viper Alarm

So I have a viper alarm installed on my 92lx coupe 5spd. It doesn't have remote start or anything, just unlock/lock/panic etc.

All of the sudden it started taking many pushes of the button for the car to arm/disarm.

I have two remotes and they both don't get it to unlock with one push of the button. I replaced the batteries and still no luck. The little green light on the remotes light up when I push the button so the remotes must be working.

I have been locking the car manually since I have to repetitively press the button for 15minues until I get lucky and the car locks or unlocks.

What could be the cause of this? I have no idea how alarms work. The antenna is on my windshield above the dash. I can put the remote right next to it, hit the button many times and nothing happens. It has to be something internal...

does it do it all the time no matter where you are at?

how old is it, could be that the brain is going or a bad connection, most likley something in the brain.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

I figured it out. It wasn't the battery or anything in the car.

The connection (ironically on both remotes) between the unlock/lock button and the circuit board was bad (and still is). I found when I put my finger underneath the circuit board where the button was and pressed up against the bottom and down on the button (on top) at the same time it would work. So I stuffed a piece of a napkin under the button and closed the remote back up so there is constant pressure on that piece that must be loose. Now it works great, 1 touch and it unlocks/locks.

haha, ghetto but who cares. Thanks for the help!
