ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Fixing a wrecked CB7

Hey guys I'm back. Been a while since I had a CB in my care. Here is the last one I had

I didn't buy this one though, i'm fixing it for a neighbor's daughter. She smashed the nose on another car.

    11/23/07
Anyway, I got a call the other day from my neighbor/co-worker saying she needed my opinion on her daughter's damaged CB7 (knowing that i'm a Honda/Acura guru).

Her daughter rear ended another car and on top of the cosmetic damage, the car wont start anymore.

    Here is what i saw:

    Ouch.

    Under the hood:

    Not too bad

So i told her i would take it and make it all better...but in order for me to take it i would need to find out why it wasn't starting.

I opened the door and put the key in and i get nothing, no beep, no dash lights, i turn the windshield wipers and head lights to on and nothing...electrical issue. So i pop open the fuse box and sure enough, main battery 80A fuse it toast. Those don't blow for no reason obviously so i check the wires...

Main ground wire was ripped off due to the radiator being pushed into it.

    New connector...

In order to fix the ground wire problem i had to pull out the core support a bit...

Integra GSR, "pullin" on CB7's since 1995

Now that i've got the ground re-wireed and a new main battery fuse in, it starts right up. Now i'm ready to take it to my house, but since i've pulled out the core, the hood wont latch anymore...so i take it off and proceed to drive the car 7 miles to my house without a hood

    Continued...

    11/24/07

Got all the new parts to my house...

    (Prices are approximate)
    -Used Center core support ($7.50)
-New headlight assembly L&R side ($106.90)
    -new radiator ($94.65)
    -new hood ($64.99)
    -new grill ($13.00)

After gathering all those up i started working on the car.

Draining the coolant after getting the bumper and smashed headlights off...

    New radiator is in...so pretty

Some more tweaking with a 2X4 and an axe.....
    Ghetto?...yes. Care?...no. Works?...YES!

HAHA! new core support in and bolted up!

Headlights, grill, bumper and hood on...

Obviously i'm not done yet, This was basically just a test fit... i still need to find some washers for the grill, adjust the headlights, get the hood to latch all the way down and put all the lose bolts and screws back in their places.

    I'll have an update tomorrow

    ----------------------------------UPDATE-----------------------------
    11/25/07

    I finished the car today.

It didn't turn out as perfect as i hoped it would. The front bumper was hit harder than i originally thought and it tweaked it down causing a small gap under the headlights/grill. I could probably get it perfect with a new bumper support and a hammer...but this was a cheap fix. Either way, it looks a lot better now, and once it's painted it will minimize the gap and it will look great.

    Just a recap...
    We went from this...

    to this...

What do you mean by "a girl driver"?! Girls can drive.. I'm not sure which ones you've seen BUT I can drive.. I've had one wreck in my life and totalled that one because a "guy" was too busy looking around and hit me doing about 40mph and I was at a complete stop.. In front of my moms house!

        Back to the car..
Nice fix, it wasn't that hard of a fix.. I was looking like okay is the frame okay, because if not then NO don't touch it lol.

                  2nd post updated!

casterX, Luckily Honda's are built a little better than Geo's.

wilkie, Yes, thank you very much for posting those up. I know for sure that the bumper is causing the gap and not the core support, i measured it out to spec thanks to your post.
