It's all about Public Relations.. You admitted yourself that you don't like cops so this car did exactly what they were trying to do, which is get your attention.

This is one of those things that usually the larger departments do because they need the public relations and they can afford to keep some extra "show only" vehicles around.. Usually confiscated vehicles are sold but, in some cases like this one, they are kept and used for the Department's benefit.

I know the Kansas City, Missouri, Police have 2 retired Patrol cars that they converted to Show cars.. 1 Full drag car and the second is on hydraulics and has a loud system.. A few pics..

Mike, ive seen both those cars in person, theyre pretty sweet. The town i was in down in AZ, had a 96 Impala SS police car with an LS7 in it and was sweet ass, lemme tell ya what..

Police get a lot of cars from confiscations and drug raids. Then they turn it into some nice cars. We have a nice 68-69ish SS Camaro that goes to show. Sat in it and checked out all the police gear it was pretty nice. A bit cramped with the gear but it was nice.
