ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Ok..i need all of your Opinion's..!!!

Ok..so i have a 91' EX Coupe 5spd..i love it..but..it's killing me in gas...not that much..but it is..plus..i only ride alone...so i was thinking of getting a smaller car..now im picky with cars..so i already know what i want..i want a 91' CRX Si..why?..cuz their small..i can park anywhere ..and because it would save me more gas than my accord..now..it's not like ima dump my accord cuz im fixing it..but i kinda wanna leave it as a weekend car..and since ima re-paint it drop it..wheels and all that..if i take it to work..they might key it or dent it or fuck it up..so yea..but i just want to know your opinion on this topic..so what do you guys think?..or if not a CRX Si..what should i get..??

not to be derogatory, but arnt stock CRX si's hard to find(im not sure if the Si's even exist). If you want fuel economy, get any old honda civic from a old peron thats stock everything. Or you can get on of those old corrolls or tercell. But i recommend a brake upgrade. Also those little POS Hyundai Accents get like 40 to the gallon i think.

id rather figure out a way to get more gas mileage out of my cb before i got get another car.

figure out why your car isnt getting good MPG. if your making 350mpt(miles per tank) and above then your doing good. but if yor not then you need to check out a couple of things under the hood. like he said: spark plugs, spark plug wires, EGR valve, IAC valve(i know when i cleaned this it raised my gas mileage by a few miles) and the intake filter.

change out the exhaust for an aftermarket one. i know when i had my exhaust done it raised my MPG even more. find the things that would help your motor to work easier before you spend the extra money on another car and insurance.

Why would you want to keep your rpms high, that would use more gas?

                  Thats what I was wondering..

What kind of MPG are you getting with the CB that you are "getting killed on gas?"

Just curious. I drive my CB pretty good and I still manage to get good gas mileage.. Later

pedaling at a crusing speed is at around 12-14 mph in a full sized 21 speed moutain bike.. trust me i have been riding my bike to work for two months when some punks set my car on fire.

just driving all hiways takes me 25 min to work at 70 mph. it takes me 35 min to bike to the nearest train and 15 min ride to a mile from my house and 10 min to get to the front door.

cars good with gas milage with a 5-spd is
                        2gen ford escort LX (1.9)
91-95 civic with the 1.5 (at 70mph crusing set at 2500rpm)
                        and the 5-spd neons

                        check out http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm

i get average in my accord which is a 5-spd lx at 31mph and go from there....
1991 White Accord LX 5-speed aka Lil' Red

I believe it's the CRX HF that gets INSANE gas mileage... like 40+mpg, from a dinky 63hp engine. No power, even in that little car... but you'll be able to drive forever!

Cuz i also saw a 93-94 Civic Si Hatchback...they where seeling it for 2,800...the paint job was aight..not too bad...the inside was clean..no hits..a couple of dings...but you'll have to get up close to see them..but then again..Si..more power...les mpg..but then again...a civic..the dude is selling it cuz he's moving back to Mexico..so he's selling all his stuff...and ima do a tune up on my car and get some treatment for the injectors at autozone see if that helps..

                              Yea tune up man.

93 Se with 179k miles and i dog the shit out of her.

Last test i did, i got 350 miles per tank driving from Savannah to Jacksonville and back.

Just make sure all the maintaince is up to par and if it is and it still sucks gas then you might have bigger problems.
