I believe that every question should be answered. If the person who asks the question shows little respect, they will get that in return. However, answering even the most idiotic of questions for the most worthless of members MIGHT someday help someone who really deserves the help. That alone makes it worth it.

The mods are incredibly patient with some of the off the wall things that go off here..

Just today I saw a member got all pissy because their oversized sig was removed. Pissy enough to create a thread about it, after it got closed by a mod, they made another and were banned... Three strikes.. A lot of sites you get one, MAYBE two strikes, if the mods are being generous.

But since members here are so wrapped up with numbers is it possible to take out the post counts or keep it hidden? I know post counts have its pros and cons but seems there are countless of the post whoring and its more work for the staff. Haven't thought about what would happen with the beginning vs regular forum though

I've noticed that there are MANY people whoring their way to 30. The mods are getting fairly tired of deleting every individual post. I'm about to start dropping people to 0 the instant they are found whoring (if anyone wants to draw my attention to it when they see it, feel free!)

So, to reiterate what was said (numerous times) in the sticky threads... whoring will result in your post count being decreased, possibly returned to 0. You will receive a PM asking you to stop. Ignoring this request will result in a ban.


So, whore away. If you can't respect the rules, you may go elsewhere

I think the new members are primarily the ones that try to whore when they shouldn't. They do it to try to get out of the "cage," instead of using it for what it was intended. Honestly, it usually isn't that big of a deal, but lately, it has been an issue for some reason.

If I go into say, the Beginner Technical section, and I see the same guy posted 30 times in a row (easy to see... his name is shown on every single thread!) I'll look at those posts. If those 30 posts in a row are intelligent, helpful answers... fine. I KNOW he did it just to get out of the "cage"... but he contributed. Later on down the line, when someone searches (IF someone searches... ) they might find his answers and learn something. That's fine. It's whoring, sure... but it's a contribution to the community.

When I see "x2", "nice", and similar things... I often delete everything I find by that member that is like that. I'm getting tired of it though... If I see that, I'm going to look briefly to see if they did it any more... if so, I'll just 0 out the count.
And yes, I HAVE pulled people back from being over 30 if I see they whored to get out of the Beginner Forums! Not from months ago or anything... but if you whored yesterday morning, got into the normal forums yesterday afternoon... I may knock you back today.

The way I see it... if you don't respect the rules during your first 30 posts, I'll probably end up banning you down the line anyway for not respecting the rest of the rules of the forum!

rofl but na i know the mods here have mad patience...ive seen some crazy shit on here lol....i was just saying people have bitched about mods abusing power or being self righteous ass's....i believe they do a great job and are very practical and fair but its easy to see why they have no patience for the easy shit....i agree with whats been said...it isnt that hard....you get a lot more chances on this forum and the effort it takes to properly move up through the ranks is too easy....all it really is is fucking typing and clicking lol...not that bad.

I get annoyed too. They post nonsense things and get the thread more irritating. If these post whores tend to be more technically informative then it would benefit the board. Otherwise, postwhores should just STFU.

i know on vadriven.com mods up there have NO patiance for stupidity. you mess up on the rules once and your banned. i admit i did a lil ethug thing and made a thread to beat the crap out of someone and i got banned. no warning or nothing.

someone made a stupid tread. the thread got closed and the person got banned. no questions asked. they dont care.

up here i at least know that the mods on this site actually care about the members. just as long as your mom and dad werent a de. making you a.... someone finish the sentence and youll get what im saying. lmao

I honestly see no problem with the 30 posts system. It basically forces you to LEARN before you can post in the more experienced forums. Nobody wants to spend 10 minutes reading a thread and then find out it was full of false information.
I feel like it makes the info in the regular forums more reputable.

I'm over 30 posts, but I've only posted elsewhere a handful of times. As someone else said, there's a wealth of knowledge in the beginner forums, and I see no reason to abandon my beginnings.

I never felt like a noob, it just took patience.
