ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Need Advice On a New Car!!!!

Hey, I've had my Cb7 for a couple years now, but I'm going to college in Cali next month, and I need a new car. Problem is my parents want me to get something reliable and not too high on insurance. But I want something fast that looks good. I was dead set on getting an Integra GSR... but it would cost far too much in maintenence (insurance alone would cost 2200 a year). Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Whats wrong with the accord just drive it to college. Saves money in the long run. I drive my car fromd Dallas to IL for school. Done it a few times and its been reliable to me.

First of all, I live in Hawaii... so I can't drive it there (and shipping's outragous), and with all the stuff that broke on my car, I don't know if I can trust an older accord again. I admit, I love the style of my car. Engine's a little weak though.

Depends how much you are spending. Honda's and Toyota's are reliable and economical.

Parents are willing to give 5000. I can pay a little more if necesary.

How's about the Preludes that everyone rips the H22's out of. Are they any good?

I was thinking about a Celica a little bit... do they have much power?
Also, if there's a cheaper car you can get, that with a little modifying will get a lot more powerful, I could do that. I know a retired Honda Technition up in Cali that can help me do anything. (He offered to get me together a turbo kit to put in my Integra, and help me do it.)

Oh I didnt see the hawaii part. Convert it to a boat! Anyway you can find old fox body mustangs but those kinda need repairs. Camry would be a cheap reliable car but eliminates the fast factor. If you really want find an Old DA integra and boost it. You can find those pretty cheap nowadays.

Yep I can agree with that first hand

Crusing at 40 MPH, then flooring it isn't fun when it take 3 seconds to pop out of OD down to 2nd and still not accelerate that fast
                    wat?

Hmm... the problem with that, is my parents want me to get a car with moderately low mileage, to prevent problems like having to replace CV joints and other wear and tear items.

Lol... def dont want that. Especially after I'm used to my car. I've got a CAI, Headers, and straight pipe exhaust.

Get a v6 camry those have some pep. You can get the 4 bangers they have a manual trans equipped with them. I just recently saw a 2 door boosted camry (4 cylinder) and it looks really good for what it is. But if you want reliability and a car will last you camry is a good bet. Or you can try and find another accord. Civics are pretty cheap nowadays too. The bad part about Hondas is that they have high resale value. Since your going to cali theft in the honda industry is high so might wanna avoid that unless you have a garage where you are staying.

Hmm did a quick search on auto trader and found a V6 Camery w/ Manual tranny for 5,000. Only thing is it looks like a full on granny-car. (Maybe I'm jaded because my grandma has one.)
