ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    dodge ram diesel......:(

ok, not a noob and defiantely not a guy that races a ton, but i was on a two lane hwy and i went to pass the guy i the dodge ram 2500 diesel (he was doing like 50) and as soon as i moved out, he floors it just to be an ass. Well, since i wasn't in a great mood anyway, i figured id just give it more gas and pass him anyway. I kept it floored and VERY slowly pulled past him, he just kept up with me. Ive got a 5spd, F22b swapped CB 4dr with no A/C, no P/S and the JDM tranny. Is there any reason he should be able to keep up?

Tunes Cummins can be fast shit the cummins itself is a great motor. The motor generates more torque than your car plus has more power. Also diesels are no slouch they well get up and go when provoked. ON another note they make power so easy its not even funny.

Probably because those diesels are quite powerful. I've seen modified ones run 11s and 12s.

ok, so instead oh thinking my cars slow as balls, i guess i could be happy i eventually pulled on him considering he's got a ton of torque at any speed........right?

well in stock form they arent monsters simply because theyre so heavy and diesels arent race engines. but yeah at a roll hes making lots of power and he already has the momentum to get moving.

True but diesels are somewhat race engines you can say. They are really strong motors from the factory and pretty detuned. IT doesnt take much to make them fast. Usually the weak links are the auto trans. But they have aftermarket stuff for that. The quickest diesel in tx right now is in SA and runs 9's.

i think the stock diesals cut off around a hundred, i could be wrong
but most stock vehicles, mostly american made ones, lose their potental when their in the last gear and doing speeds around 100. the other day i was on the freeway and this 4 door dodge truck with a hemi is flying and doing like 90, so i catch up to him and theres like 5 people in the truck. so he floors it, and so do i and as soon as we both hit like 105, it seems his truck wont go faster, so i proceed and in about another 8 secs, i hit my stock govenor at 115 and this guys is way behind. all i have is a stock f22a with 4-2-1 header, full 2.5 inch exhast, intake and its an auto. well, maybe he couldnt go any faster cuz of all the people he had!

At low speeds most diesels will probably own you.

At high speeds, they have to fight a TON of drag, so they lose their advantage very quickly.
