ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Wooden Engines anyone?

As one of my side hobbies, besides buffing my car, I put together wooden engines. I've worked on wooden engines for a good 2 years now. I've built 6 wooden engines from sizes of about .1 liter to 1.5 Liter.
    Engines I've made:
    0.1L Two Cylinder Boxer
    0.5L Single Piston x2
    0.8L Straight 4
    0.9L Six Cylinder Boxer / V6
    1.5L Straight 4

My current project is my 1.5L I4

The the connecting rods are Black Walnut. Pistons are Oak. Wrist pins are Birch. Crankshaft is Particle Board/Fir mix. Block is more fir.
I only use the best lubrication....Castrol Syntec 10w-30, runs heat free!

Im still fixing kinks in the steady idleing, its a bit rough in places. Ill try to get a video of it. So far Its been revved to a hair-raising 3200 rpm
I'm hoping to see how fast it goes before BOOM!
Tell me what ya guys think!
Also my sig has a link to all my engines

That is awesome man! When I first started reading, I thought maybe there were wooden models you were assembling... but it's neat to see that you actually build them from scratch!

Yeah... internal combustion with a wood engine is not a good idea... but hand cranking just to watch it go is still cool as hell

yeah, it'd be really cool to see a working head to go with that block! That's a lot of detail work though... might be difficult.

Actually I did some calculations and I believe I can go DOHC (lmao) If I got DOHC then the factory timeing belt MAY fit off of a D15. Out of all my engines I WANT to see this engine RUN. I live near a scuba store, maybe I can rent an air tank (3,000 psi should run it)
