ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You purchased your car used, what do you expect? To have a 100% problem free car get a new one or one with a warranty incase something goes wrong. I am guessing you did not have the maintenance records from the previous owner. Some owners treat their cars like shit and some take real good care of them. Therefore, some break down and some don't.

New cars aren't 100% problem free. Thats why they have lemons laws and what not.

And as for warranties.... they are tricky. I cracked a piston on my completly stock engine with less than 55k miles on it and my warranty didn't cover it becuase i didn't have proof that i had changed my oil. I change my own oil and i don't keep my receipts from autozone. Luckily their was a recall that ended up being the blame of the problem and i got my engine swapped.

In most states you can return the car with in 7 days and they absolutely have to take it back.

And if they don't want to take the car back just threaten them with parking the car in front of their lot and making a scene.
Either way good luck and sorry to hear about that.

If you want a car that is 100% problem free, get one that isn't mechanical. Get one with no moving parts. Get one that wasn't built or engineered by human beings. Get one that doesn't rely on controlled violent explosions for power.

Did you go straight back to the dealer? If it happened on the drive home, there should be SOME sort of recourse... I mean, how much can you really do in a few minutes!?

Hm....I change my number from 100 to 99%, since there are many cars in the world.

I was just saying, the newer car "generally" have less issues.

And good luck with the problem.

New cars at least have more options when you DO have issues... When you buy a 94, you're getting a 13, nearly 14 year old car... Once you get over 7-8 years old, you're well into "beater" territory!

Well, it started off by not wanting to accelerate, when I'm go full throttle, it would just sit there and like miss and jerk back and forth a bit....I had a bad feeling but I was in a hurry to get home since I had baseball practice it 30 minutes(and our baseball coach is a modern day Hitler). So then it started not wanting to go into gear, I had to rip it hard to get it in. So I'm cruising down the highway going like 55 or so hoping to just make it home and a car ahead slows down to make a turn. So I down shifted into 3rd gear....sounded like something metal just fell out from underneath the car, and instantly my car was full of white smoke, it flooded in from my e brake. So people in the other lane start waving there hands and freaking out....since I had about a mile long streak of smoke and the people behind me couldn't see and had to pull over. So I drifted into a local mechanic's(just happened to be along the road). And he laughed saying (well I guess thats not the one you want). So now it wont go in gear...and when it starts it knocks real hard. Oil covered the motor and was all over the inside on my hood. But I talked to the guy last night and he said don't worry about it that he'll take care of everything( he's a family friend) but still that sucks....but o well I didnt sell the cb7 yet so thats what im gonna be driving for the time being....o and yeah the integra has 160,000 miles on it.....blows up(possiblyy motor and tranny)...the cb7....300,000+miles....and still no problems...I guess that says something

U should take it back to the dealesrhip, and have them at least give u a chunk of the price u paid for it back, so u can pay for ur fixes if u do that at least.

Always test drive a car before you buy it. If you know enough about cars pop the hood and check out what's going on or you can always take a mechanic with you.
