ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

REGISTERING vehicle, Title question ??cheaper REG fee

What up, bought a cb7 from someone and wanted to know that if the Title Says the previous owners name, do i have to fill out the back of the title with him. Also is their a for i need to have him fill out besides the back of the VEHICLE TITLE. Also i heard that so the Registration Fee is cheaper, to put the car as a gift or put that the car was bought for $10.00. Do i need like a proof of sale reciept.

SORRY FOR THE DUMB QUESTIONS, BEEN A DRIVER FOR A WHILE, BUT NEVER REGISTERED CAR ON MY OWN. GOOD LOOKS, THANKS

what form did u fill out for the gift at the DMV.Or did you just fill out the Regular "Register Vehicle/Title Certificate" . Also you didn't need the Seller/Donor .

What i mean bout the title is that if the Title says the previous owners name, that to get it under my name what do i have to do,

fill out what's necessary on the title, and the proper forms for new title, new registration from DMV. the person you bought the car from, if he/she wishes can fill out a form from DMV stating the vehicle was a gift in order to lower you registration costs.

you can download/print all necessary forms from here:

The previous owner, from another state put $1000 as the sale price on the title. Brought it to NC to register, and I got charged 3% tax on $2500 because that is what their book says the car is worth. I was also charged some $40 for title transfer, and $40 for tag, and $75 for tax. Ended up being $160 with $5 notary fee.

Then I had to get it inspected, another $20.

i believe you'd need a bill of sale, if u are indeed buying it, and his title signed off with the cars mileage at the time of transfer. I'm in the midst of gettin my title. but the guy giving me the car(yes free :P) had a lien on it. I'm gunna have them sign a Bill of Sale saying i bought it for $100, i hear some ppl have been charged "book value tax" when they put it down as free or $.01. so imagine if the car's book value was $1000, itll cost you $86.50 in tax, not the $8.65 if it was sold for $100

hope that helped, G/L on yur car
