ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Just wanted to introduce myself; my name is Kevin. I just got a white 1990 Accord LX coupe yesterday that has a blown clutch.
I'm not new to Hondas(my previous cars were a 88 CRX with milled D15B2 and another 88 CRX with D15B VTEC, DOHC ZC transmission w/ CRX countershaft and EG EX differential, MSD cap, rotor, wires, GSXR1000 ITBs, P28 w/ crome and custom "carputer"...I did all of the work for those wondering). Both of my CRXs are wrecked(I wrecked one, the second already had rear subframe damage, I found out it also had front frame damage so decided to scrap it.

I'm not sure what I want to do with the Accord as of yet, but I'm open to suggestions. One thing I would like some advice is rust repair and reducing the car weight without removing too much interior(it's my DD, gotta make it semi-nice for the ladies ). I have mild rust on the driver side A-pillar, doors, and it's also rusting badly on the rear quarter panels(car came from Salt Lake City). My old CRXs weigh 1900lbs, and going to around 2800lbs is a huge difference in steering. One thing I noticed is the hood is pretty heavy, so I already know I need to take that out.

No pics of the accord yet though because my sister has the digi cam(she also drives a blue 1991 Accord sedan).

Shit man, welcome to the club! We all have suggestions, but the best one is to tell you to make it your own. We'll all tell you that the cb is a rare breed(if not the only one, one of like 2 or 3 that dont need fabbed mounts to swap an h22)and means alot to most if not all of us, but make her your own. Favorites tend to be h22 swaps, red/white tails, lips, etc, but its your car man. Let us know where your from, too. The majority of people on here are good, friendly people who will help out. Get to know Deev, he's a moderator, and cpMike, both great guys! Don't worry about pics too much, i've been here for 3 months and i still aint got any but good lookin out.

    Welcome!

The weight reduction thread is in the racing forum... it's still a work in progress, but it gives ideas. The best things to do first are to replace the hood (carbon fiber is best. a cheap aftermarket replacement, like one from Certifit, is lighter than stock) and remove anything related to AC and PS. all that together should shave about 150lbs.

Get that rust fixed, especially on the reat quarters! That will eat the car alive! If it hasn't gotten to the undermetal, stop it before it does.

carbon fiber's a good look depending on the color, IMO..

            *OT*Certi-Fit OEM hoods are lighter

They're made from thin, crappy metal. I dented mine slightly by pushing on it to close it. They aren't designed to be lighter... just cheaper. Lighter is an advantageous byproduct Still heavy, but I'd venture to say it's at least 10lbs lighter than stock.

Pics as promised(sorry for bad lighting and angles):

my sister's car, and my CRXs(you cant see the blue one):

                    Plans so far are:
                    fix all rust
repainted(frost white? whatever that stock color is)
black housing headlamps with acura hid retrofit
                    chargespeed grill
                    rear mud flaps(do these exist?)
                    trunk with the oem spoiler
                    rota gt3 wheels

still thinking about which motor(leaning towards SiR F20B with D-series transmission and modified linkage or turbo F22B)
