ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

How to Improve Gas Mileage on a 2001 Honda Accord

    Hi everyone,

I am a new member here and need some advice. I have a 2001 Honda Accord and recently I have noticed that my gas mileage is not as good as it used to be....

I am not sure if it is because of the age of the car or if there is something I am missing. I regularly change the oil and have kept up with basic maintenance but I am looking for tips or tricks to improve my fuel efficiency. Are there any specific parts I should check or replace. Maybe some driving habits I should adopt or avoid. I would appreciate any suggestions or experiences you all could share.
I also searched this topic on this site https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/general-tech-help-7/improve-gas-mileage-golang but I could not found anything helpful for me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Best,
    [Smith]

I'd recommend proper tire inflation, good oem spark plugs, driving slower. Wind resistance makes a huge difference in gas mileage. If you don't mind speeders whizzing by you on the freeway/highway, keep to the speed limit or slightly slower.

Yeah proper tire inflation. I would replace the rubber vacuum lines also, in the engine bay, with silicone vac lines.

Also replace the spark plugs and wires if they are original. And replace your fuel filter and use at least 89 octane. There's a reason why turbo car guys use race fuel, its much cleaner.

Also check your pcv valve and probably change that out if it's original. And you could also look around your fuel injectors for any build up and if there is, consider replacing fuel injector o rings.

And, last but not least, with the vehicle on a lift or jacked up, spin your wheels by hand, make sure they spin freely, the point is to make sure that your brake calipers are not sticking. Or you could remove each wheel and inspect your calipers and brake pads for even wear.
