ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The B fell off my _eater from adding H

I just finished my full H23 engine/trans swap on my '92 EX sedan. I've kept it a sleeper except the emblem on the back (see below). I never thought I'd rather drive the Accord than my Prelude Vtec, but I'm thinking about calling it my beater because it has a different meaning now. Instead of being a beater Accord it's more like a beater of whatever the other guy is driving . Before the motor went into the car I gave it a valve job, and installeda new clutch and flywheel, a cheap intake, a decent header and a plastic intake manifold gasket. My stock accord exhaust has no cat, other than that everything is stock. I also bought every sensor and gasket and tune up part I could think of. I don't know what I did right, but that thing hauls ASS! . My brother has a '97 Prelude (H22A4) that's stock except for an intake, and I kept up with him from a stop inch for inch, hell yeah!. The H23 only revs to ~6.5k to the (USDM) H22's 7.5k, but they both make the same torque and the H23 does that 1,000rpm earlier- the power range is the same size and easier to reach in the 2.3...... Now if I can just wipe the slobber off my cheek from the high-speed shiteatingrin and chill.....the people to the left wouldn't even know that I am allowing them to pass . I love my Accord, and there's nothing like that feeling of owning the road with three friends and a full trunk right there with you. Thanks for listening to my ramblings- I feel better, now if I could just stop lol'ing at myself in public.... post here if anybody knows what I'm talkin' 'bout !!!

5,628 posts definitely calls for a break to scratch one's noggin I love my H22 just as much, don't get me wrong, but a big car climbing the mountains out here and accelerating at 100+mph requires torque. I got the wrecked Prelude Si for $500, and did every bit of labor myself. I will say that I don't see a big advantage to the H22 having Vtec if one were to install a big-ass turbo on either motor, I think the ~103cc's of extra air-squashing space would probably be more useful. I have a jdm H22A and opted not to use it . It sucks that turbo H23 manifolds are more expensive, but I got the turbo new and basically free when I bought someone's unfinished project. I wanted to make sure the engine itself and the swap was all good before I opened that big 'ol can of turbo worms. I know how to make my own intercooler pipes, so something like $500-$800 in parts could make this project really ridiculous fast, I mean...ridiculously fast. cb7's yay!

Thanks man, I know it will. Blood and sweat are free and knowledge is everywhere, things like this just come down to time and money.

I hope everything works out for you too, I wasn't trying to pit my two favorite engines against each other, or be a catalyst to anyone with an H22 fully built for turbo to start having second thoughts about their choices, we both have beautifully ridiculous projects and it's good to feel good about them. I want to see how far is just right on each of my projects, but this is going to be the giant killer....
oops, that was supposed to be my escort
