ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Man...

Installing an H22 sux Balls and ass! I just wanted to know from those of you who have installed an H22...

How did it go? How long did it take you? What went wrong? And how much was the total cost?

My friends and I spent about 5 days (7-10 hrs = 1 day) I bought the complete swap for $2400 shipped. I also got a Greddy Evo 2 Cat Back Exhaust for $350 shipped. I went from Auto to Manual and all the parts cost about $200. I had to get new Axles and an Intermediate shaft $400 ish. The Knock sensor was broken when they shipped and that cost me $150. Cherry picker was $150. Impact gun (for those damn hubs) was $189. and other tools here and there that we didnt have.

I spent a little over $4000 on the swap...

There is still shit wrong with the car... It is very fustrating and time consuming. The Idling is all weird and the car over heats from time to time.

It was all worth it tho lol Share your horror story...

Wiring/ECU was a bitch since my ECU was bad and i basically suck at wiring shit up. But after the first couple the other two werent that bad. SPent almost 4000 and my car is running fine other than the aftermarket POS OEM replacement clutch i bought.

Ive basically had no horror story with my swap except for the ecu i was changnig sensors here and there come to find out that my car had no check engine lightbulb in the cluster. And that steve from hmotorsonline sold me a bad ecu it was a h22 chipped auto into a 5speed.

My swap was 2,150 for the basemodel when i first brought it. my swap only took me 6 hours for the h22 in and out and thats with me bullshitting around answering the phone all kinds of crap. I usually take my car tot he muffler shop i go to and get it made custom from the flex and back. All my swaps go well for me and wiring is easy.

Mine took a couple months, but then again, i dint really work on it very much, just here and there. The only problems I had were with the wiring, and thats because I used the small pins where I should of used the large pins in the ECU wiring for the Vtak stuff.

6 hours.. but his car was already prepped for an h22 since he had one in there before. Its not hard to take the engine in and out after you swap it, its just getting the engine going and making sure it all works the first time. Not to mention, air tools are priceless (things like axle nuts dont take any time at all.).

my first time it took me about a month or so because it was my second car, and i didnt have all that much time, i wasnt in a hurry, and kept having to wait on things like my clutch.

The accord f22/h22 swap took 6 hours because autozone keep sending me the wrong axles. prelude h23 to h22 swap took 4 hours and I keep every include power steering and a/c working. h22 to h22 swap in the prelude should be 3 hours tops. took 1 1/2 hours to drop the h22 out... shouldn't take but 1 hour to drop it in and 30 mins to workout all the bugs.

I had blacktrax swap the H in my car. I wanted to do the work with some friends in my garage but my parents didn't think we can finish a swap in a day. It took me and a few friends 8hrs to swap a LS into a 89 civic hatch. The longest swap me and a few friends did was a jdm ae92 supercharged motor in a oldschool corolla coupe. Swapping wasn't that hard but wiring was the main issue. Took us a period of 5days b4 we got all the bugs out. We found out later the supercharger was pretty much jacked and the car wasn't boosting to it's full potential. One trip to attarco and a better condition top mount intercooler later, we were pissing off preludes and gsr's with some TRD power. Sucks my friend couldn't find a way to hot smog the car. He ended up selling it to a guy in Arizona where it passed no problems.

If you know what u are doing and have all the correct tools, a day is a average time to complete a common Honda swap.
