ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Want even higher speed? Join the Marine Corps. I was an 0331 Infantryman Machinegunner. Talk about useable skills. And I only get $1034 a month to go to college(I didn't get the kicker). But as far as the other benefits go, couldn't have asked for a better life.

                For your reading pleasure ..

And I assure you .. you really dont wanna work for this guy .. dont get me wrong
These *Generals* are only criticizing Donald .. however, it goes much, MUCH deeper then that!
These are highly decorated Generals .. who simply ...... quit! What caused them to do this?
Why so many? Howcome so quickly, and .. all together? Think about it ..
Seriously, think about it .. these are intelligent men .. leaders .. articulate
and very well versed in the *game* of war .. and ... they just .... quit!
All of these dudes .. with the exception of one .. were Maj. Generals ..
One, was even the .. former chief of U.S. Central Command .. imagine that!

"We went to war with a flawed plan that didn't account for the hard work to build the peace
after we took down the regime. We also served under a secretary of defense
who didn't understand leadership, who was abusive, who was arrogant, who didn't build a strong team."
                - Retired Army Maj. Gen. John Batiste.

                ---

"My sincere view is that the commitment of our forces to this fight was done with a casualness
and swagger that are the special province of those who have never had to execute these missions -
or bury the results." - Retired Marine Lt. Gen. Gregory Newbold.

                ---

"They only need the military advice when it satisfies their agenda. I think that's a mistake,
and that's why I think he should resign." - Retired Army Maj. Gen. John Riggs.

                ---

"We grow up in a culture where accountability, learning to accept responsibility,
admitting mistakes and learning from them was critical to us. When we don't see that happening
it worries us. Poor military judgment has been used throughout this mission."
                - Retired Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni, former chief of U.S. Central Command.

                ---

"I really believe that we need a new secretary of defense because
Secretary Rumsfeld carries way too much baggage with him. ... I think we need
senior military leaders who understand the principles of war and apply them ruthlessly,
and when the time comes, they need to call it like it is." - Retired Army Maj. Gen. Charles Swannack.

                ---

"He has shown himself incompetent strategically, operationally and tactically,
and is far more than anyone responsible for what has happened to our important mission
in Iraq. ... Mr. Rumsfeld must step down." - Retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton.

I was in the Army Reserve for 7 years and couldn't recomend it to my kids when they grow up. When I enlisted in 1989 I thought that the military had actually learned from Vietnam and would properly take care of soldiers in the future. After seeing how the whole "Gulf War Syndrome" played out I realized that this was not the case, and now I worry about the thousands of seriously injured soldiers coming back from the gulf missing limbs or with PTSD all the while they are cutting back on the VA.

As far as reserves being a weekend a month and 2 weeks a year, that is a thing of the past. I have a buddy in the Navy Reserve who is currently on his 3rd active deployment in 8 years (Kosovo, Iraq, and Iraq).

I greatly respect the men and women over in Iraq, but I can't extend that same respect to the people who got us there.

Dude, you're not saying anything that hasn't already been said. Write your congressman. If you join the armed forces, expect the worst. You did sign up for it. I know my recruiter at least didn't put a gun up to my head and make me sign. I signed during war time, went, got hurt, and here I am. I don't regret a day of the Marine Corps. It changed my life and helped make me who I am today. If you come out of it bad then your unit was bad or you went into it with the wrong frame of mind. Too many people now are joining the reserves for the wrong reasons. They get worried whether or not they're going to get called to active duty and have to do the same thing their active duty friends have been doing the whole time. It's what you signed up for. Now on the VA benefits thing, I'll agree with you. I'm 50% disabled now and I hardly get crap every month. That I could live with if it weren't for this next issue. Private contractors go over there and make over $100 grand a year untaxed. We have to interact with them on a daily basis at the chow hall and laundry time and all that crap so we hear about all the crap they do in their day job and it's not much. The military should be doing something to come close to them in terms of pay while in hazardous situations because of our jobs compared to theirs. But then again, I contradict myself because I still signed up for it knowing exactly what I would be making and the situations I would encounter and could just have easily gone with Haliburton if it was only about the money. Live with it. It's not going to change.

36 months of school doesn't even begin to cover the problems with it. $1034 a month? Now the technical school I'm going to now for automotive now is covered completely by that but when I transfer to Baylor or Texas A&M what then? At least in my situation I have the Hazelwood Act but other states(besides Missouri) aren't that lucky. Again I say, write your congressman because nothing's going to change unless.

thing is, 1 of 3 fatalities are directly related to your own people.......and saying that being injured or dying in war means your unit or even yourself was bad is ridiculous.......the other guys aren't complete morons, other countries train their soldiers too.........if you do everything perfect, you can still die.......better to be lucky than good, and sometimes, the other guys are lucky too

what is a good reason to join the armed forces?

so you can kill and not go to jail?
                              because other jobs bore you?
because you want those future benefits if all goes well?
                              for political reasons?
or like maynard did, just because no one expected it (blew through west point at the top of his class)......

there is no good reason to join the military....if people didn't have to fight, then it wouldn't exist (people do have to fight and that's life) but you can't say that your reason is better than another.....there is no wrong or right reason to join......if you aren't capable, they are supposed to handle it.....but normally, you get thrown into battle anyway.........that's why 1 of every 3 dead soldiers could have been avoided

I have read your input addressed to this thread, and I am a little confused. I see that you do live in America. I would think that if you didn't like your headlights on your car, you would of course change them. If you do not like what our country is doing, change something. Remove yourself from the situation. I am so tired of people dishonoring what brave men and women have given their blood, sweat, tears, and yes their lives for. You see I can speak about it because I served my time. I am a E5 Sgt. in the U.S.ARMY. Everytime someone goes into the military, they sign documents stating that they are supporting this great country and what it stands for. Even then, a soldier can refuse to go to war. It is kind of easy to state your opinion when you haven't been there. Some of you should stick to writing about Hondas, because you don't know what you are talking about. By the way, It is way easier to get rank in the reserves. And to any of you that make the choice to serve, I will salute you officer or not. So like I stated above: If you can't honor these soldiers and you don't like what America stands for, get out of my country. Coward.

Rickyduckworth- Why are you putting that garbage about the Bible in your sig? Dude you need to know your facts. King James Version of the bible was created by King James "scholars". KJ himself hated Christians. He only had the KJV put together to please his people. So yes there are some contridictions that you can find. The most accurate Bible is the NLT. It is the most identical to that of the original Greek and Hebrew Scribes. So do what you want with your sig. You WILL have to account for your actions. And some day EVERY knee including yours will bow.
