I'm actually disappointed with the current sportscar offerings. The Z doesn't intrigue me nearly as much as it should. The RX-8 is weaksauce. The STi and EVO are impressive, but they don't have the sportscar aura about them...

Nothing like the old RX-7, Supra (Toyota, where have you gone?), 300zx, etc... Same with the American offerings. The Charger, 300C Hemi, Crossfire, Mustang... they're all boring. I've NEVER liked Corvettes, but at the moment, I think the Corvette is the most impressive thing on the road!

It seems to me that new "sports" cars aren't about so much speed and performance, but more about elegance and class. It seems to me that instead of looking to build a car that can perform, auto makers seek to build cars that will perform in the marketplace, and are profitable, well made or not.

2002 skyline gtr v-spec all the way. SI is my choice out of these 2 cars, but look in to something else, like rsx-s or 06 eclipse v6

Nah, the eclipses are just poser cars. Their power to weight ratio isn't very impressive.

Well of course anyone would pick a 350z rather than a civic. But what you're forgetting is the price difference, about 7-8 grand more to the Z. And youre right, they do sound orgasmic
