ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The civic makes the same horse power as a stock cb7, a tiny bit more than OP's 130 ( asuming he has some sort of 4-2-1 header he has at least 130 regardless if its an a1 ) and its automatic. They're also heavier

I feel if OP's car is a manual he will win much easier than you think

Just because the civic is " newer " doesn't mean shit. Its a 2010, it probably has 20k+ miles on it already. So long as OP's car is healthy i think he has a good probability of winning
    AGREED.....

based on the fact that my 91 with the 93 f22 out ran my wifes 2008 civic ex 4dr....both are auto. the cb will smoke the civic. the newer civics are super slow.

              Bwahahahaha

My SOHC F22 5 speed with a few mods, would smoke my wifes 06 civic with the same engine and trans, which you speak of.

Those cars have a peak of 150ish hp, at one particular rpm, the tq curve is horrendous, they aren't made for power, hers has 160,000 miles and still gets 39 mpg.

You will win the race, unless you just can't drive.

I'm not going to bitch on ya for racing even if its on the street or the track ..No matter WHO you are we are all guilty of this admit it or not...
As im the only one who brought this up, it's clearly referring to me.

Why do you feel the need to make it ok?

Yes, I am guilty of it, but because Im older, I also know first hand why it is a bad idea.

I was simply snuffing out any idea of bragging about it if it was street, becasue as a forum we should not condone it.

If you personally do it and think it is ok thats your deal, but keep it off of here.

How doesn't it mean shit? You have two cars with similar weights and horsepower, but one is 21 years old and the other is 2 years old... The Civic's engine is going to be in better shape, over 2 decades the CB engine isn't going to be as healthy regardless of what you say.

There is obviously a lot of factors that we do not know. Either of the engine's overall condition, driver's ability, etc, etc... I am just going on basics though, assuming both drivers are the same skill level and both engines are normal (but still keeping into consideration that the Accord engine is considerably older than the Civic's), then I would still have to say Civic.

I'm not saying the Civic is going to completely smash. But I believe it'll win. Though, I agree with you for the most part about if its a stick or not. That would DEFINITELY make the difference. I am just going on the assumption that both are autos...

I guess "super slow" is relative because I've driven one and and I wouldn't consider it a beast but not super slow either... Atleast not any slower than a 20 year old Accord auto.

LOL at everyone who thinks that the Accord is such a beast.

                    Shit is stock.

                    Cmon now.

I love the gen just as much as everyone else, but let's come back to reality will we?

It's a family sedan thats 20+ years old.

A 20 year old guy is going to foot race a 40 year old guy. They are the same height and weight. Who do you think will win?

Civic does ~140 at the crank
