ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I just did this 2 nights ago. I noticed the kit I had contained the perimeter valve cover gasket, 4 thick o-rings and 4 thinner, larger diameter o-rings. I could'nt find where the thin ones went so I set them aside, finished the job and researched the next day. Turns out they do go under the rocker assembly as you said but looking down into the plug tubes there is no evidence of oil leaking down low. Mine was only leaking from up top so the top gaskets fixed my problem. Oh and my old ngk g-power plugs held up for 100k! (They were pretty much toast tho as the gap was probably slightly over double (2mm) what it should be. Engine seemed to run just fine tho!)

Good thing. Some people just wait till they fill up and misfire starts and all hell breaks loose before they decide to take a look at them .

And replacing the lower O-ring gaskets that are underneath the rocker assembly in addition to the upper valve cover spark plug tube seals is good as well. Although the lower O-rings dont seem to fail as much, they do dry up and harden, which eventually allows oil seepage.

Be sure that if you replace the lower seals under the rocker assembly, torque the rocker assembly back to specification and in the correct order. This is very important!

                  perhapes someone can help.

I remember browsing through random threads and I came upon a thread of someone replacing their seals with images and instructions. I searched and searched with no success.

Think it was a D-i-y thread, i gave up long ago so i forgot, but my car needs it

^ One thing I hate about forums: inactive threads disappear from normal view in their respective section. They still exist, but it often leaves you Searching using very vague words that just result in pages and pages to sift through. Which of course leads to skimming, clicking on irrelevant threads that annoyingly pique your interest and get you off track, then finally giving up... or is this just me?

Those lower oil seals were never replaced in my old F22A even though my spark plug threads were always oily. One of those "eh, too much work, it'll be fine." Then the engine finally gave up the ghost and I dumped $3k into installing an H!

The only thing I would add to that video would be to loosen and tighten the bolts to the rocker assembly 1/3 turn at a time (don't use an air gun), as per the factory service manual. It helps to prevent warpage to a precision-machined piece.
