ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    adjustable coilovers or 5 lug?

Function and forms or 5 lug? I cant seem to decide on what to do first?

If you can't decide what you want to do to your car, we certainly can't decide for you. It's your car. Do what you want. If you're that indecisive, save up until you can do both at once!

Isn't a 5 lug swap far cheaper, on account of all the parts coming from a u-pull?

A smart person doing a 5 lug swap would be replacing all bushings, bearings, rotors, and pads in the process... so I'd say doing it RIGHT isn't very cheap.

I'd agree, but I'd counter by saying that suspension pieces should be replaced anyways if they're worn. Especially if the owner is installing coilovers.

So personally, OP, I'd suggest doing a 5 lug swap and suspension rebuild first.

5 lug. mine cost about $400 with all parts including wheels and new calipers/pads/rotors/ball joints. my wheel bearings were like new when i got them.

I've never done either one.. but if you were to do both.. wouldn't it make more sense to do it all at one time... since you're already going to be taking all that stuff apart?

Decided to go with 5 lug, just got my Odyssey spindles in and I'm paying 536 in total, replacing all the bushings new rotors new pads lower ball joint and bearings and I won't feel It as much, reasona being I'm buying it by part and not all at once, not very good at saving money so ill just get the suspension after

Good choice. It's nice to see you're doing it right! These cars are so old, that halfassing anything with the suspension could be very dangerous.

Nice. Seatbelts are covered for life, so it should be free, and they should be replaced with new.
And definitely good to be safe when you have a little guy depending on it!
