I finally got disability, not ssi, after trying since 2003. Basically, a couple lawyers told me, if you ain't dying, you won't be accepted. I appealed three times and finally got it. I'm hearing impaired and legally blind..

Never let your ssi/disability claim close or terminate... Always appeal.

I hope the doctors get your condition all lined out good and its well worth it in the end. Im disabled myself. I walk and will walk with a cane for the rest of my life, until i need a walker i guess. I know about that damn wheelchair and i feel for ya.

Funny you should ask. Being as this is a car forum. May 22 of 2010 i was getting off work, headed to the lake. A guy driving a 06 Ponitac G6 was texting and driving going the other way. He droped a tire off the road and over corrected puting him in my lane. We had a head on at 55mph and i wasnt wearing my seat belt. I remember pushing the brake so hard my ass was off the seat. At impact my leg got cought under the brake pedal as i was thrown into the passenger seat. This broke both bones in my left leg and the fracture was open. This is where the bone has came thru the skin. My leg was bent at a 45 degree angle and i waited 30mins before the paramedics came. Now i have a 19" medal rod thru one bone and the other bone dosent have enough pieces to mend.

It really gets to me somedays about how i will never run again, or walk normal. Or how if i had a kid(s) i wouldnt be able to play with them and they would have to walk with a dad who limps everywhere. Thats why when i find someone like you whos going thru something kinda like i am i always say something to let them kno that i do understnd what they are going thru. If i would have had that when i was going thru the first stages of what happened to me it would have meant alot to me and gave me more hope than i had.
