ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Ever seen a tire flat like this?

so this is the story I heard after letting someone drive my car, simply; "I ran over something metal".

    I'm pissed.

i have experienced something like that before

be glad only the tire is destroyed and not the rim/car/driver

The sidewalls aren't very strongly reinforced, so they can be torn easily. I can't imagine what would do that, but if "something metal" was allowed to dig into the tire, that's actually a mild result!
Bobby is right. It could've been a LOT worse!

I believe that any damages that occur while driving someone else's car is the responsibility of the driver to repair.

Plus it looks like that tire was ready or pretty dam to close to be replaced anyways.

Dry rotten and separated steel plates will cause that.

It happened on the highway so more than likely they were speeding.

It looks like you needed new tires anyway. Are you making the person buy you new ones or a new one?

belt separation (previous curb check?) At the tire shop I saw all sorts of stuff come in, even running over roadkill can mess you up. I pulled a bigass canine tooth from some critter out of a tire, luckily for them it was far from the sidewall and was able to be patched. Looks like they hit something, belts separated and the tire let loose down the road from heat, there was probably a bigass bulge after contact and thats why it looks like someone took a shotgun to it. If the tires are fairly new Id bring it back to the shop as a defective tire. Theyll measure the tread depth and pro rate it against another new tire.

whats the DOT code on the tire, thats where the date of manufacture is albeit slightly "encrypted"
