ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Questions about jacking up a car

I'm going to be jacking up my car in my driveway, it has a slight inclince

and putting it on jack stands in the front. There will be no wheels on in the front, but will be a spare and a steelie on in the back. I will have bricks behind the rear wheels. So my question is will this be safe and not roll backwards?

Don't forget to engage the e brake. It would be IDEAL to have it flat, but I've worked on many cars on an incline.

You should never feel safe or comfortable around a jacked up car, not even on lifts. And the fact that its inclined worries me...

I'm not going to be working on it! I wouldn't even feel right I'm selling the 20s and getting 3 more steelies like in the picture

I agree with both posters above me.. And to be extra careful, I would add a couple cinder blocks, one on each side under the frame rail, in case something were to happen!

Everything said is good advice. You might want to get some proper wheel chocks to go behind the rear wheels, as a brick could slide if the car starts to roll. Cinderblocks or spare wheels under the frame rail are always good if you plan on being under the car. If you're just pulling the wheels to sell them, and jacking up the car until you get replacements, it should be fine. I had my 86 Accord sitting on jackstands during a hurricane, and it was fine.

That was pretty much it! I planned on doing an engine swap... I have since put it back on the ground... swap still pending.

or try turning the car facing the grass, and yeah use your e-brake too. You can also push on each corner to make sure it is seated correctly on the jack stands too.
