ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H22 Died. Funeral this weekend

Ok so I'm temporarily in morning. I few threads ago I mentioned that I will never by another motor from JDM Engine Depot. That remains. I will not extend an apology.

From what the mechanic said that is resurrecting my girlfriend (Yes my car is my girfriend and I have a wife too, she's a real person) my valves were already bad and the pistons sucked too.

Beware gents when your buying a motor. Look at the posts here and anywhere else. Most importantly do not ignore the numerous rumors you may hear about a place simply because it is easy. I went to pic my motor up to avoid a $375 shipping fee and $80 to $100 liftgate fees.

Well I'm expecting this to be the last time you all hear from me until by Car is back on the road.

Yeah man there are LOTS of bad stories out there about JDM Engine Depot. JDM Engine Zone sells great motors and they have good customer service. There motors are about the same price as Depot. I think the H22 is like $10 more with the Zone .

Sorry for your loss, on the other hand my cuz bought a motor from JDM engine depot in 2006, full JDM B18c Type R till this day the motor is runnin perfect even after countless Beatings. I know of a few other motors bought from there as well still runnin perfect. we went to pick them up and in front of us they do a compression check and all. Never had any issues.

There seem to be companies that only take quality engines, then those that take everything, either because they don't know or are just out for the business. So of course you're going to get some real gems at Depot among just as many beaters.

Go HMO next time, I don't think I've ever heard a complaint about them. Mine purs like a walrus. But at the same time, you could probably rebuild your bad engine even with a few upgraded parts for the cost of a second motor.

Sorry for your loss. My experiece with them is good and bad. The B18 ran great but my boys H22 had had bad compression. This was after we threw that hefty monster in a cd5.

I don't know about companies out there but I got on line and checked a few and picked up a simple replacement f22a from a company for $800 and free shipping. Yea it was used but only had (what they claim) 60k on it. Whole time to wait for it to come was under 3 weeks and the wagon I put it in runs great! I believe the company was Automix. I also want to know how can we verify the claimed mileage from them?

Yeah thanks Deeve. From what I understand the piston in the third cylinder is bad and the a valve it bent. Unfortunately thats beyond my capability to repair some I'm looking into some shops.

So the guys at the shop I hang out at want about $800 to $1500 for the job. Everywhere else i've called want $2500 or better.

Till I get her to the shop she'll be sitting. I gotta get the tires of and take out the battery for now.

Valve job at a quality machine shop, plus a few new valves wont cost more then $350, and pressing on a new piston(if reusing the old rod)would only cost 15-20 bux. Installing a new rod/piston is relatively easy if you take your time and follow the instructions.

Still, parts plus work = close to the cost of a new-to-you motor. But if you fixed whats already broken, you'd be doing it in steps and it may be more affordable.

                        Just a thought.

Also, why not try and rebuild it? Its already yours, what are you going to do break it? I mean, the cars already broke down right? So what do you have to lose?

What makes those "mechanics" so special? The information is out there, you just need to find the courage to do it yourself.

Im sure theres plenty of help on the forum for any problems you might run into.

The only thing a mechanic has over everyone else is experience and knowledge to draw on. Anyone with a good manual, common sense, and enough brains to stop and think about what they're doing (asking questions of more experience if necessary) can do damn near ANYTHING with a car. It just takes a little longer to figure it out as you go.

Thats mourning ahhwell should have brought the motor from hmotorsonline or down over at shea stadium they give a three month warrantee on their motors but I would still go to hmotorsonline since he is more credible when it comes to customer service.

Mike, you've been saying "down by shea stadium" for years... I always just envision some dude hanging out in a dark alley near the stadium, grabbing anyone that looks like a potential import tuner and saying "pssst... hey, you want a good deal on some jdm motors? i got good shit... cheap!"
