ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Will the hood fit?

I am going to a salvage yard next month to buy a hood, fenders and rims.
I don't have a truck so I have to use my car. If I lower the back seat and stick the hood in thru the trunk would it fit? I also need to have space for fenders and 4 rims.

For sure it's not going to fit, why don't you drive without your hood and when you get there just put the hood onto the car?

        That's genius.

And if you look into your trunk, their are the two parts that support the deck and back seats. Those are welded in metal and make it hard for anything larger than a cello to fit through that opening. If you have a sedan however, you might be able to fit the hood upright in your backseat. I'd measure and make sure still
Being normal is probably the lamest thing you can try to be

I removed my back seat and passenger seat, and I managed to fit a hood in my car. You're probably not going to get it through the trunk.

Another thing you could do is ask the salvage yard if you can swap in their parking lot, and leave your old hood with them.

Would it be safe or legal to drive on the freeway without a hood for an hour and a half?

And the only problem with swapping hoods there is mine uses pins since the lock mechanism on the car is broken and I don't have the time to make new holes in the hood so I'd have to tie it down once it was on

Those are actually bolted in with 4 10mm bolts.

Take a drill to do the job.

Right now IMO you can either strap it to your roof and run the risk of losing it on the highway.
                or
Take the tools you need to swap the hood at the JY. Shouldnt take you any more than 15 minutes, this way you save your roof and everybody on the freeway from damage.

Take the pins off as well as the hood, then get a new latch mechanism at the JY also.
