ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

How to Know Good Manufacturer when Purchasing Parts Online?

    Hey guys,

I need to replace my CV joint on my '93. I can bring up the correct part at rockauto.com However, I see many different brands/manufacturer - Cardone Select, EMPI, AUP, etc..

How do I make sure I'm getting a reliable part and not some piece of junk?

    Thanks.

In the case of aftermarket parts, price is very often a good judge of quality. You get what you pay for, so if something is extremely inexpensive (especially in comparison to other brands), then it is probably not very well made.
Of course, how important quality is depends on what part you're getting. In your case, with CV axles, you shouldn't get the cheapest you can find. Even if you get a warranty, it's a pain in the neck to swap them out, and they could be dangerous if they fail completely (at the very least, a complete failure could result in a costly tow...)

OEM Honda is always best. Otherwise, go with a reputable seller (RockAuto is good), and pick up a part placed at least midway in the price range.

      I would recommend Cardone

just put two brandy new ones in the wagon yesterday!

My sedan also had Cardone axles as does my brothers CD5.

make sure it is Cardone Select (new) and not A1 Cardone (reman) even though both are good

Aside from just the name which people fall vicitim to all the time the best thing to do is not to listen to everyone but use your own judgement. That is the only real way.

If it breaks easily too easy then you know its not the right thing for you. If it lasts long and you drive it normally with a little spiritied driving here and there accoring to your setup and specs if it lasts thats the manufacturer you want to deal with.

One last thing to the way you can tell quality over quantity is to call the manufacturer up if they have a guaranteed warrantee and they are willing to back it up they are the ones you want to deal with. though try to find out what they are willing to back and what they are not willing to back so you dont end up stuck with b.s in the longrun.

Adios I dealt with alot of shit, shady people, partmanufacturers and copycats for the ones that done right by me its all good for one ones who did the shady shit fuck em Karma's a bitch let the chips fall where they may itll bite them back in the ass so its whatever goodluck my dude. Ohyeah and beware of long distance international online manufacturers if you somehow get a messed up or defective product you more than likely wont get a good response in a timely fashion,or a very bad language barrier or customer service wont even exist.
