Haha so i raced a guy in a newer eclipse today and left him in the dust so he catches up at the light and says i cheated because i downshifted hahaha i died laughing then drove away......is downshifting b4 a race cheating?

i take it u didnt understand my question so ill break it down ....i shift at 3k on a reg basis if i see sumone wants to race i stay in 2nd gear around 3.5-4k 40 mph

No, he just wanted to whine about it.

5th = overdrive.

5th =/= overdrive. I've had stick shifts with overdrive, they didn't require shifting into overdrive.

Wind that shit out. If I'm racing someone, I don't shift until 6k; you're barely into your power band when you shift.

^^ I think he was just giving an example, I dont actually think he shifter at 3000rpm when he was racing. As for cheating, well if the other dude didnt say what gear to start in at the beginning of the race, then there was no cheating...as for racing on the street? If there were cars around then that's just idiotic.

yea deev i thought it was pretty damn funny too...its crazy tho my f20a sohc is stock and i always find myself leaveing cars i think should smash me ...i pulled on a integra gsr all the way thru 1st 2nd and sum of 3rd then v-tec kicked in yo hahaha

here in las vegas everything is desert lol ..but it was just late night game of catch up really....no traffic around
