ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    2006 accord

i know its a big car but is the 5 speed 3.0 vtec any good in this car cause i bet it has power

    #2
The engine responds quite well to mods... and they are 6 speed, not 5.

Fairly quick in stock form. With a few properly done mods, they can be quite potent. They only issue comes from putting all that power down to the front wheels.

He is asking about the 2006 Accord, not the engine, I don't think.

The auto is a 5 speed. The manuals are 6 speed.

And yes, it has plenty of power. It will run about as fast as an H22 Accord with more stuff in it, and get better MPG to boot. Much quieter, and actually handles quite well (a rear sway bar gives it truely decent handling). One of Honda's best powertrains ever in this gen V6 Accord.

Also, putting power down is not really an issue on this.

He's asking about the 2006 Accord 5 speed 3.0 vtec...

Yes, you're right, it could be the 5 speed auto (though most people don't say "x speed" when referring to automatics)

Putting power down can get to be an issue once the engine is modified. It was easy to break traction through second gear in my GTP... lots of torqey low-end power to the front wheels can be difficult to control. Especially on uneven roads, or in wet weather.

Regardless, this thread has absolutely no focus.

Supercharged 3.8 = low end torque.
NA 3.0 = not so much.

As Scott mentioned, they don't really have traction issues. Now, the 08+ V6-6...those have traction issues. My brother's will break the tires loose easily on a launch, and it will break them loose again at the top of 1st.

There is only one 5 speed, so I was just assuming.

Regardless, this engine isn't likely to be greatly overpowering the front wheels, even with bolt on mods. It is just not that overpowering.

                Who's saying I wasn't referring to a supercharger?

And yes, there's only one 5 speed... but I'm more accustomed to assume ignorance around here these days!

Ah, ok. There was a dark blue/purple one, converted to RHD, rolling around north jersey. I saw the guy driving it before the J swap, and then one day I saw it again with the engine sticking out like that. Pretty sweet. I know he pulled the engine and sold the shell... but since that's LHD, that means there's another J swapped Civic in the same general area. I thought maybe that's where his ended up!
