ideas on how how to propose to my girl??

Alright guys and Gals,

I just ordered the ring..

so its official that I am hopefully getting married soon..

The one thing I need to do before that though is propose..How should I do it??

I have no clue how, when, or where??

I am going out with her parents and her in like a month to talk to them about my girl and I moving in with each other..We are going to a restaurant and I am going to basically tell them how much I love their daughter and to not worry and that I am going to take care of her..if they do not believe me, I was going to ask for permission from her father to take his daughters hand in marriage in front of both her, her mom, and her dad to show that I truly care about her...

but I think thats kind of a weird way of proposing..lol

therefore I come to you guys to see what way I can do it??

If you're going to ask her father's permission, ask him one-on-one, man-to-man, not in front of the family. Then when/if you have his blessing, plan something that's is/will be special to both of you. I asked my first wife at a Heart concert between the opening act (Phantom, Rocker, and Slick) and Heart.

Lol..well i do cook dinner for her once in a while and as for significant, the only thing that we have that is something that we both love is our first unofficial date..we went ice skating as a date and i was a little kid in a candy store....other than that i wanted to do the same tthing with the chocolate truffles..i was gona find a way to open the bag and hide the ring in the bag and then find a way to close the bag..but that plan isnt that easy to do..i want to ask her dad man to man, but hes the kind of guy that doesnt do that kind of stuff..he is a hard core old school mexican straigh outta the ranch..but hes also the kind of guy that if i asked would want most likely tell me no..her family thinks that were not serious..even after the 4 1/5 years together..and i know her for 9..but i will ask him before i propose..and with or without his permission..i would love to have his permission, but if i have to marry without it i will..

When i proposed i took my girl out for dinner. Actually we were looking at wedding halls all day and then we went to this really nice thai place for dinner.

I already had bought the ring and i had given it to her mom to hold so that she wouldn't find it and she slipped it to me when we got home(we live with her parents in a seperate apartment downstairs)

So we make our way downstairs to our apt and i had already made a DVD of assorted pictures of us with music in the background, a simple slideshow.

The best part was that she knew i was making the slideshow because i waited till she wasn't home to add the last two pictures....one which was of the ring in the closed box....the last the one of the ring with writing that said Jenna will you marry me?

When that picture came on the tv i dropped to one knee, asked the question and presented the ring.

She was beside herself lol.

So just use a little imagination and youll be ok.

I have seriously thought of taking her to europe because were both college students and shes graduating next june and thats what she wants for her grad gift..

I want to propose in a field in the middle of nowhere in wine country or something like that..but I dont have money to do it so that plan is out of the pic..

Im also thinking bout just going to the grand canyon on a camping trip and propose at sunrise near the edge of the canyon where its the most beautiful place ive ever seen..But at the same time she is scared of bugs and her parents dont really let her go out a lot..especially a long weekend with me and her..

Another thing hat I was considering was proposing at her graduation..I work on campus and work for the police department..meaning I know people who can get me a meeting with the president of the school( if I really really really tried to but its gona be hard as Fcuk)..I was gona try to propose right before she walks on stage after they say her name..I would be hiding behind all the important people and come out and surprise her after the president shakes her hand..but it would take a long time to plan and the president might not go for it..

I will talk to her dad for sure but its going to be hard seeing as I dont really have a chance to talk to im alone EVER..

I know..I dont want to propose with the family around..that is like mylast resort..But I know he is the type of person that if I talk to him and ask for permission he is still going to say no and that her school comes first and all that stuff..

Her parents think that I am holding her back from graduating from college ..Even though she is scheduled to graduate this upcoming june

I dont want to do a lot of common proposal things like go on a romantic date or go do something that thousands of people have already done..I want to do something that I know she wont forget and neither will everyone else..I want an Idea so damn crazy that it might just work

I also do not want to do something thats going to have cops called on me or break the bank account..I need something someone was too scared to do or didnt have the funds to do, or anything..

My Idea

Would be to take her to the beach and put the ring inside a sea shell then take a walk wit her on the beach as the sun is going down after that pick up the shell and ask if she can hear the ocean then u could say hey i think theres somethin inside and wen she goes in to get it and she pulls it out thats wen u say it... juss my idea dont know how well it would fall into place though lol. You are thinking too BIG.

Europe and the Grand Canyon are great ideas but there are a lot of variables involved.

The graduation is a total disaster.

First off most girls do not like to be mortified, and in front of the whole school nonetheless.

Keep it simple, private, and romantic and itll be memorable for a lifetime.

Girl's don't really like the sign at a baseball game or a plane with a banner.....at least not any girls ive ever met.

Also a big big factor is your girl.

What kind of things does she like? What does she do? hobbies?

These are all important factors.

Just wait, give it time, it will come to you.
