ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

looong trip..would my cb7 be able to make it???

ok, so I have a 91 cb7 with 300,000 original miles. the engine is stock but in good shape. i did the leak down test and compression test and it was pretty good, also replace many parts such as, mater pump, timing belt, power steering pump, seals (including rear main seal which was a PAIN in the A$$), hoses, etc. now i need to make a trip from San Jose ca to Portland OR its about 11-13 hr drive. you guys think it will be ok if i drive it up there then back here??

theres no reason why it wouldnt be... i mean cars arent set to breakdown at a certain mileage, just sit back and enjoy the ride

Made it from LA to SF and back with half your mileage in one day. Car had minimal rest and no recent maintenance done a long with three people in it. I think you'll be fine; just baby it and it will take care of you

I've known cars that had far less preventative maintenance make trips like that.

Just keep an eye on your gauges, be aware of any funny sounds or vibrations. Make sure your suspension and brakes are in safe condition (that's more important than the engine!)

For added security, AAA+ would be a VERY smart thing to have! (after 3 years of driving for a living, I finally got it myself! )

I drove 30 hours from Toronto to Calgary in a 2002 Ford Ranger with 420 000km on it.

Both my 91' EX and 93' EX made the 1500 mile drive from Utah to Texas (and the 93' even did the trip back to Utah) without any issues whatsoever. I think you'll be fine.

Check your spair tire pressure before. If you blow a tire and your spair is low in pressure you'll be fucked...

                      Oh and good trip.

The one time I got a flat on the highway, ironically was on the way to pick up my new wheels. So I get the flat and go to put onmy donut and the damn thing was flat.

I make the trip from southern to northern California (and back) every 10 weeks (with 4 people and luggage), and have been doing so for well over a year. With that kind of preventative maintenance, you should be perfectly fine. Realize that highway driving is much easier on cars compared to city driving.

The only time my car ever let me down was when I ran out of gasoline on a desert portion of I-5. I was trying to get 500 miles on a tank

lol u should be fine.... im sure it will have alot of hill...when u going up on hill just make sure dont push it..or like downshift to get up there......even thought i have an h22a4 swap in my cb7 coupe....( not as much heavy as sedan ) it should have a bunch of power to make that hill..but i still put up emergency light and follow them slow ass truck until i get over the hill.and when u going to rest area ..make sure pop the hood and let the heat out...and keep one person at the car and let the fan keep running .....make sure bring 1 or 2 quart of oil and at least 1 gallon of coolant and tool.....i alway have tools and oil in my car..
