ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Dead 1993 EX wagon value

    Hey folks,

Due to neglected maintenance, my wagon has a broken timing belt and the totally farked engine that goes along with that.

I do not have the resources to replace the engine myself, even though I know used F22s can be had cheaply, and I certainly do not have the cash to pay a shop to do it.

What I'd like to know everyone's opinion on what kind of money I could expect if I tried to sell the wagon as-is, with no engine. I know a part-out would be more lucrative, especially considering the wagon specific parts, but I have no garage, and with a toddler and newborn, no time. The car has 167k miles, and is in great shape apart from small dents on the hood, passenger front quarter, and roof next to the sunroof.

I was thinking ebay might be a good place to sell, or craigslist, perhaps.

    Thoughts?

As is... $500-$1000 depending on the condition of the body and interior.

If you swap in a $100 motor from the JY, $1500-$2000 depending on the condition of the body and interior.

If you can replace the timing belt, try doing that and see if she runs. My belt jumped because of a loose sprocket and the cam was a 1/4 turn off. I realigned everything and replaced the belt and now it runs with perfect compression.

I've already had the head off. The engine is properly toast...

How you do properly toast an engine?

Is it auto or manual? Manual wagons are fairly hard to find, especially in nice condition. $1000 would probably be possible for a manual wagon.

Well, I don't know what a proper offer would be, but I am saving up to get a CB and actaully wanted a wagon, and a car that did not run, I just wished I already had the money.

Well like others said... It depends on the overall condition of the rest of the car. Truthfully, putting a new engine in these cars is not hard at all. I have not personally done it yet (will be very soon) but I've done alot of research. I understand that you don't have the means to do this so I guess I'm gonna have to say like $400-$900 depending on condition.

I paid $400 for my '91 LX sedan in good running condition and an ok body so do with that what you will.

                Good luck.

I'm closing this now, as it is coming dangerously close to breaking the rules.
